I agree. Senile drivers are terrifying.

Agreed. Anyone who has had to drive with my 79 year old grandfather would agree. Last winter, he came to a complete stop on an on ramp at night, in the snow, while being followed by a semi, because he couldn't see which way the road turned.

I've got one that I think might be unpopular. I don't think ANYONE should ask to be an overnight houseguest of people with a baby under 6 months. Family included. It's a burden, period. Not really an opinion, just how I was raised. Or they at least shouldn't ASSUME, and should be understanding if you ask them to get a hotel.
Sorry. I know you tried, but this is NOT unpopular. I don't want guests period, much less overnight ones!!!
Well it was unpopular with my MIL last night who thought it was ok to tell one of DH's cousins she could stay at our house with them over Tgiving. Fight ensued, it was tons of fun.

  • C'mon ladies, entertain me for the last 1.5 hours of my workday. We haven't had a good UO thread in a while. Any direct sales ladies out there care to make a case for yourselves? I would be legitimately interested to see what your mindset is. We will play nice!

If anything, you might be guaranteed to win the UO thread for the day :0)

  • I'm not in direct sales but I do technically sell insurance. I prefer to shut my mouth unless someone asks a question because i also find it annoying to be pushy. Cool if you make your money that way but not for me! I used to have a boss that would basically mind fuck people into buying things they didn't need because he had sales goals. It made me so uncomfortable...

UO: I don't think it's safe to sleep with the baby in our bed with us. I know there are safe ways to do it, and that plenty of people do it and their kids are just fine, but I refuse. Makes me too nervous.

I have one. I hate it when people call pets their children. No. I think you can love a pet for sure, and you can feel like a pet is a part of your family, but they are not your child. Even though I haven't been a parent for very long, I can 100% say that parenting a real child is a lot different than having a pet.

This must be referring to my comment to syllessa about her dog-child. Anyway I call them kids because they act like kids and you take care of them like kids.

Pete and Todd are AWESOME cat names, thank you very much.
Fur-real...my dog has the same name as @pnwlover12‌ 's daughter. I think it's a great name!

Really?! I really only like human names on animals.
Yeah. I don't want to name my dog Spot.
    But Butters, though.

I guess that's y technically a people name. Domino is the only one with a non person name.

I know food UOs are lame, but this seems really unpopular around here. I can't stand McDonalds. I see people post about eating there or wanting to go there, and I just think its gross. :P

It is gross. But that's the only fast food place within 15 min of us so that's what I get when we need something close by and easy. I wish it was a Wendys or Panera or something.

Butters is a people name! There is a South Park character named that.

Not true. ..Fats Domino...it is a surname but a human name all the same,

I have purchased origami owl recently. DH made fun of me because I added our birthstones to my locket. He said he didn't realize I was that cheesy.

Also. My dog is my baby. His name is Rufus. But he is my lo's puppy not his brother.

I love that damn dog so much and once he almost lost his eye and u had to give him eye drops every hour for days. I was so distraught that my boss let me bring him to our office. BUT I can leaverify him in a kennel and not get arrested so there is that.

I used to do direct sales and it was very hard for me to ask my friends to have parties so that I could make money. That's probably why I wasn't successful!
  • I knew I had a true UO there. Hope I'm not on too many shit lists.  :P
