Severe hemrriods

I'm calling my doctor first thing tomorrow morning. But since I can't sleep with this pain I wanted to ask if anyone had or have this and what is most likely my options or outcome? I know without a doubt I have severe case of hemrriods, it's anyone's worst nightmare! I can't walk or sit I have to basically lay down or I am in so much pain it brings me to tears.. Bleeding swelling and nothing's makes it better :( is banding or burning it off even an option at this stage? I can't live with this any longer..

Re: Severe hemrriods

  • I honestly wish I had some advice but I don't. I'm sorry and I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. I hope that your doctor can do anything to help relieve your pain and that it can be treated. GL tomorrow.

  • Thank you!!!
  • I'm going through the same thing! Its so horrible, I've been using Tucks, creams, and the supositories from the drugstore with little relief. I called today and Doc said they can prescrib stronger creams and it may have to be lanced off! Its such a pain!
  • I think I developing one or two...I have my docs appt tomm...I'll ask tons of questions for both of us and promise to get back to you ASAP!!! Oh you poor thing, good luck tonight and hang in there!!! <3
  • Yeah. So, I had this issue with DD. It was severe. I mean severe. At around 6 months I had to have emergency surgery because they were that bad and my rectum prolapsed. It was horrific. Even after the first surgery, after labor, I had to have 2 subsequent surgeries to get everything back into place down there. Realistically, if they are bad, there is not a whole lot you can do, except have surgery. There are non invasive treatments, that don't require surgery. However, mine were so bad that I had to have surgery. And it hurts like a son of a bitch to have the surgery. I would certainly call your doctor, I ended up in the ER over it. I feel your pain and would never wish it on anyone. At this point, if no one is willing to operate and they are that bad, you are just about management. There are things that will provide relief, but nothing is really going to take them away. I sat on heating pads. I sat in epsom salt baths, as hot as I could stand it. I used suppositories. I used tucks pads. I used ointments and creams. I also used numbing sprays. I drank a lot of things that would keep my system functioning without getting constipated. I tried all of the above things that were OTC and RX. I was on percocet for the pain nearly 1/2 of my pregnancy. The downfall to that is that it makes you constipated. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Its a real bitch and Im so sorry you're going through this.....

  • Ouch. I started getting them around 25 weeks and they got super painful too. Tried creams and no luck. Ended up going back to my doctor and she cut it out right there and then! Apparently it was thrombosed and she got the clots out. Pretty painful at the time and the next day, but worked a treat otherwise! Still get a few symptoms but no pain now! Hopefully you get some relief from your doctor... Good luck! x
  • Thank you guys so much for advise! @katrinadenise‌ so they can and will actually do that for me? I know I have to call my own doctor to hear but if that's a possibility I want that option! @Mommalawyer‌ I am 100% sure I have everything you had its getting worse every time I have to use the bathroom I terrified !! So baby will be okay if I have to get surgery ?
  • I used the tuck pads and the cream with my first and honestly only time and delivering baby will help them go away, aside from the surgery. They are caused by the pressure of baby pushing down. If you are wearing thongs, I suggest switching to full bum underwear. That helped me a lot this time around. Good luck!

  • Sorry I tried to dm but somehow it went to your wall
  • Oh gosh No way I'm wearing that! I would die
  • I also have some terrible hemorrhoids. The only relief I can get from them is to put some aloe vera gel and coconut oil on a maxi pad and put it in the freezer for a while. Take it out and fold it the long way with the soft side up and stuff it in your crack.. Only caution, sit on a towel so you don't ruin anything! Its not permanent relief but it really helps, especially at night when you are going to be laying down and taking pressure off anyway! Hope the doc has some ideas for you!

  • Yes, DD was fine. Rather than general anesthesia, they did a spinal block for the surgery. They had also given me something that made me feel sleepy, so I remember nothing about the actual surgery. They monitored DD during and after the surgery and everything was fine. Obviously, I think they would have rather not operated on a pregnant lady, but I was pretty much out of options. Good luck!

  • I had awful ones with my prior baby, the midwife prescribed proctofoam which was a suppository. I was so horrified that I just put up with the hemorrhoids. There was no way I was shoving anything up!!
  • I can't even think about putting in a suppository it's not an options right now if ever..
  • I know this is going to sound nuts... But I once saw this holistic doctor for them... He told me to avoid tomatoes and citrus for a while... I haven't had a problem since... The flair up went down in a week... Now if I start to feel anything I avoid tomatoes and citrus and it goes away :) good luck!!!
  • Ok, all he said was to use the Tucks, that there's prescription ointment, and to keep the creams in the fridge. You can soak in Epsom salt bath, but surgery could be required. I'm so sorry again, I hope you find relief soon Mama!!!
  • Yeah I didn't even have to ask, the doctor just did it for me after I told her I couldn't sit! I'm in Australia though so not sure if things would be different in the US. Definitely worth a try. Everyone kept telling me I would have to wait until birth for them to go away but there was no way I was waiting for that. Fingers crossed for you
