My BIL has referred to my unborn babies in all three of my pregnancies as parasites. He has two children of his own but his wife is not your typical maternal type and probably agrees with him. I just think it's really strange that anyone would say that. It's offspring, not a parasite. I don't let it bother me because I know he is being playful but I hope he doesn't say that to other pregnant women who may not be so understanding. What a weirdo.

Yeah he sounds like an odd duck but I wouldn't take it personally.

<p align="center"I also saw this meme of the "overly manly man" that said "Children? You mean fuck trophies?" And that had me cracking up
How funny! We nicknamed our baby "parasite" since the 1st trimester. I was so nauseous and throwing up during my 1st trimester and when I talked to my MIL about being concerned about not eating anything of real substance & it possibly having a harmful effect on the baby, she said that babies are like parasites & can survive on very little. Since then, the nickname parasite just stuck for our baby. Obviously, we won't be calling our little miracle "parasite" when he/she is born, but we definitely included the nickname in the baby book.

Having said that, OP I'm sorry that your BIL offended you.
It doesn't really bother me, I just hope he doesn't say it to the pregnant lady at the grocery store or god forbid at work! Lol
