How's your day going?

I had to leave an event early last night because exhaustion caught up with me. Now I'm sick and letting DD1 do whatever the heck she wants, currently that means pjs, colored pencils, and TV. I really hope this is a 24 hour bug at most.

Pretty damn shitty. our company just announced our site is essentially closing and around 90% of the functions are being relocated to another site. most of my colleagues will be without jobs unless they are offered relocation. I think I might be safe but I am waiting to hear and will not know for sure (100%) until mid December.

the best part - they gathered us into different rooms based upon the degree of bad news you would be receiving.

I woke up with no voice. I have 6 appointments today.

Dr. Google says it's either laryngitis or a tumor on my vocal chords. I'm assuming laryngitis, but I've never had it before. So I'm drinking hot tea and using my portable humidifier and hoping that will help.

Also, I got a Kohl's email this morning with "secret savings" and my code was for 40% off. :-) I got some Simply Vera Vera Wang pajamas my Mom wanted for Christmas for $32 (they were $28.99 per piece on sale) after the discount. I told my Mom I got the 40% off and gave her the code and it was one time use only. Boo. Share the wealth Kohl's!

Ugh, companies often handle these kinds of announcements so poorly. How far away would the new site be? Is relocation even an option for most people?

Its from Philadelphia to Boston; so still east cost. A lot of people have families and kids to think about so I guess we will see how many make the move. The news reports are estimating 500 relocation. so we'll see how many make the move...

I always hate how companies do this during the holidays. And why on a Wednesday. I was taught in business school this is news you deliver on a Friday!

I was silently moaning about how cold it is, then I got an email from a colleague based near Buffalo, and she is under about 4.5 feet of snow. I'll shut my mouth about winter now.

My morning started off great bc I had an off-site meeting to approve some advertising (the commercial looks awesome!) and I got to stop at Starbucks on my way back to the office. Chestnut praline lattes are good, but I still am a die-hard pepperrint mocha girl.

I'm excited for this work day to be over bc tonight I am going to an annual fundraiser that is a handbag and accessories sale. Nothing like shopping for a cause! :-)

I keep chewing on the side of my tongue in my sleep. It effing hurts. I seriously feel like my tongue is too big for my mouth right now. It weird and crappy.

I'm going stir crazy because their are travel bans everywhere but it's not horrible where I live. I think we're going to take Zeke out in the snow today but we'll see because all of a sudden his little cheeks are bright red. Really hoping were not going to add baby man cold to list of things keeping me inside

I can't wait to do holiday-esque things with the kids this year. There's a live Christmas pageant (with animals and shepherds and Wise Men and all) in a nearby town that I just love. We're talking about hitting up some places with lights or an amusement park that does Christmas-themed events. I love this time of year.

That sucks. My org has been downsizing for the past 2 years. We have another cut in December. I actually don't think mid/end of Dec is too bad a time to go. You get a severance package, and then you are off through the holidays to be with your family. Most companies start up hiring again after the new year so you have more options than you would have had if you were let go a month or two earlier. Good luck to you! Hope it all works out.

I am home with a poopy toddler. I am frustrated bc one of my employees called out and left a voicemail on my work phone but never bothered to call my cellphone and the kicker is...her DH calls out for her...ugh, she calls out about every other week

I am applying to a new job this week and I really hope I get it.

I am trying to downsize DS' toys and it's just creating a bigger mess so I have walked away for now.

I need to get my kitchen in order to start baking for thanksgiving cheesecake season.

I am debating whet I should have my back surgery b4 Xmas so I only miss 2-3wks of work instead of 6, then I can work on my online class.

I got 30% off...I need another set of sheets so maybe it's worth it. I need them. Cotton sheets are just a little chilly. I need more flannel.

It got cold here quick. I bought a Jacket. I never wear them but I'm running out of things that fit. I wore the jacket the other day. It looks nice and fits well but I feel like I'm being strangled in a jacket. I'd rather wear a sweatshirt or nothing.

I work 1 day a week but they don't have enough work for me. I end up sitting for hours just doing nothing basically.

DH's company did this the Tuesday before Halloween. They let a third of the company go and now it looks like there will be a corporate takeover. We haven't told any of our family members because we don't know what is going to happen, and will not know until February or later. It has been a really hard month because of all the mess and restructuring that goes along with it.

I think the worst part of the whole thing was they pulled everyone except the contract employees into a meeting then said 'go sit at your desk, we will tell you when you can get up'. So everyone who got fired was pulled from their desk, taken to an office, and then escorted out the front door. It was a terrible way to go about things

oh boo! I was hoping you were going to get some--I know how much you love snow! I thought it was all of NY that hit by snow, but Buffalo got the worst of it.

And they do feel like fleece, but they don't pill or anything. They're good fleece, not like the Old Navy stuff that feels weird. I know that description doesn't help. I don't have a better way to describe them. :-(

We have fleece sheets as well and I agree how you described them. They are soft, don't pill and they are the right amount of warm. DH gets super hot sleeping and even in these he's fine.

I really want to splurge on an A&A dream blanket. I love their swaddles but I'm not sure the price is justified when I had other swaddles with DD that were just as good. But their dream blanket? I really want one. They are $50 though....I've been stalking ebay for a while. I know it would be a blanket to last a while.

Does anyone have a dream blanket? Are they really that great?

speaking of thinking about bumpies, I made some poached pears the other day, and the the smell from the kitchen was wine reducing with all the mulling spices and citrus zest and I thought...oooh I bet @hmp1 would love this smell!

The thought of sleeping on sheets that are made of fleece makes me quiver.

I messaged my MW this morning about sending me to a fertility doctor for further testing. I met with her 2 months ago and she told me to try for two more cycles and let her know how it goes. I am scared, but ready for answers. Even if they say everything is good and I just need to keep trying. DH is not complaining about all the sex, but I am so over it.

I made out my Christmas shopping list and realized that I am almost done. I am giving homemade gifts to most of the ladies, so all I have to do is get those actually make them. I am making burlap wreaths and these:

@hmp1 I did not read the second part of your post right away. I thought for sure you were telling me you were having lesbian thoughts about you and I making out lol.

As for the hair, I've decided not to cut it, but did wear it tightly pinned back on one side for a wedding we went to a few weeks ago. I like the braids-- not sure I could pull it off without looking like I was on spring break though haha.
