Sometimes I think I would like to be a writer. Then other times I think I would love to be an interior decorator or a furniture maker or even a scientist. I love working with my hands. I consider myself a bit of a foodie, but having spent 10 years working in the food industry, I realize I prefer to make food for friends and family and not for a living. Although, after watching Chef, I kind of wanted to open a taco truck

I think I would hate being a doctor or nurse. Having people's health and lives in my hands would be waaaaaaay too stressful for me. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Plus I don't do well around blood or seeing people in pain. And I would probably come home thinking I had caught a different disease every day. So most definitely not the profession for me, haha.

This is a really hard question to answer.

I'd love to be a stay at home mom, but I don't think I would be good at juggling 2 or more kids. And I don't think I'm disciplined enough to give my daughter the structure and learning she gets from daycare.

As weird as it sounds, I'd love to work stocking inventory. I like being on my feet and I love organizing things. Or volunteering, I want to give back to the community, but I'm always short on time. I think I may take advantage of my companies program that allows people to take work hours and volunteer once a month.

I'd love running an animal shelter and being able to work with and train dogs to make them more adoptable. I'd also love to do a ton of volunteer work.

I really enjoyed working in banking. I love customer service type positions because I'm a major schmoozer. When the kiddos are older and going to school I will probably be taking a more active part in J's business because I would love the social interaction again.

I would hate any job that required that I sit in a cubicle.

Me too, but I'd take a cubicle any day over a hospital.

I currently hate my job which is childcare. I don't think it's the fact that I have a bad class this year, It's just that I have no support and I'm tired of putting up with crazy parents as well. I really wanna be an OB nurse. I've always had great nurses. I would never be able to work in the nicu though.

I actually love my job as a speech pathologist in neuro rehab. I'd just like to do it less if money were no option.

I would love owning my own business, but have no idea what my product or store would be

I too hate sitting and crunching numbers, so accounting/finance is out for me.

edit: I don't mind the medical setting. I don't deal with blood, but plenty of traches, feeding tubes, and wicked head sutures

I actually would never consider being a school-based SLP- too boring for me.

I love my career and hope to get back into it someday, but I have often found that when something becomes a job, the enjoyment is sometimes lost. It can be really hard to find an ideal situation.

I've also found that in my longer-term volunteer commitments, sometimes I have found that the work I do, while valuable and needed, can tend to be under-valued and under-prioritized by some of the people I need to collaborate with. So if I'm working on a project that will really help the organization in its communications or its development into a more formal operating structure, it's not a priority to other people unless they are getting paid for it. And it can be really tough to get things done that way. So going forward I'm getting increasingly picky about what volunteer work I will agree to and who I do it for.

I would probably hate to do anything that has early morning hours. I have never been a morning person.

I'm a happy dweller in the ivory tower. My dream job would be as an international vegetarian food critic. I'd get flown around to critique high end restaurants' vegetarian options. I don't think this is happening anytime soon.

There are a lot of jobs I couldn't handle, but probably top of the list is anything involving business or sales. I'm bad at capitalism. I'm good at numbers, but as soon as they become dollars I become an idiot.

Hmm. #1 job choice would be professional puppy and kitty petter. I could also pet donkeys and llamas and alpacas on the side for a little extra income.

Just behind that would be a surgeon, but without all those pesky years of school. Just on-the-job training. Or getting paid to bake fun stuff.

Worst job: Proctologist, gyno, or anything that involved killing animals.

I'm in forestry and it is certainly not for the money. DH will always make more money than me with two fewer degrees. I grew up around the forestry industry and it is something that I love. However, with my choice to do a PhD I feel like I have to reinvent the wheel constantly. I love and yearn for the simplicity of sorting things sometimes. I could probably be happy being a post office worker or something.

I would also not enjoy being tied to a desk all day. I really enjoy the mix of field work, office, and lab time that my career offers.

If money were no object, I would continue to stay at home but I would hire someone to clean and possibly cook so I could spend more time with my kids.

If I were to work outside the home, I would have accepted the job at Nicki's. Working there and also doing the cloth 101 and babywearing 101 would have been awesome! I love answering questions on all things baby and green living.

I would hate being a teacher for young kids. College professor would be ok though.

Dream job is to own and operate a dog adventure camp and training center. And work with service dogs. If/when we move across the country, that's probably what I'll start working toward.

Volunteering at a local dog shelter or rescue group would be awesome too.

I hate sitting at a desk all day and dealing with office politics and doing work that just isn't exciting.

I would never want to work in the retail or food service industry again.

I thought I was in one of my dream jobs as a pediatric RN up until now. Having given vaccines myself, I'm already tearing up thinking about my LO getting them and crying on Fri

Being a Child Life Specialist or Lactation Consultant are my new dream healthcare jobs. My dream non-healthcare job used to be a Sea World trainer, but SW wasn't controversial when I was a kid.

The jobs I'd hate...bank teller or gas station clerk (scared of being robbed at gunpoint) and guest services agent on a cruise ship (I don't think I could grin and bear it to be nice to the people who complain about first world problems).

These are fun to read! It's good to dream.

I love my career as an ER RN. But I didn't love it when I did it full time, too draining. If money weren't an issue I would volunteer at the free clinic in my hometown, as well as the humane society. And I would write and drink wine in the woods on the side.

I would hate manual labor because I'm pretty lazy.

Dream job: An LC. I really thought I'd hate BF'ing, but turns out I really like it and I think I'm good at encouraging new moms without making them feel like if they quit they're a failure. Plus babies! A close 2nd would be owning my own CD store.

Hate: Anything related to politics. Oh and anything dealing with HS students.

Hate: Something meaningless. If I have to be away from my baby, I'd want to be doing something to make the world a better place.

I would love to do that too. It makes me sad how many jobs I could come up with that I would love to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm really good at what I do and it's suited to my personality. But... there's so much else I could be doing.

Probably go back to my old job as a part time Library Assistant. But at a different library- not the smallest inner city branch that is almost solely used by kids for the computers. I love actually doing reference work.

A job I would hate is anything in sales.
