bottoms up ladies!

I forgot to cork the wine last night. Might as well drink the evidence.
Waiting for an old acquaintance to pick up a shit ton of 0-3 month clothes and also deciding how to cook the pork I took out this morning

  • I have wine. And I have some beer. I think I'll drink it once DS goes down.

I don't know where you are in SoCal, but I read that Old town Pasadena has a thing every year with 20 tons of snow and other events the Friday after Thanksgiving.
I'm in North OC, so not as close to Pasadena as you probably are... but that does sound like fun!

  • H and I got into an argument last night. It's been really awkward today. It's his day off and he has been playing a new video game since 10am. Whatever a-hole. This is why our marriage sucks.

So yes. I will be drinking as soon as DS1 goes to bed.

  • I guess my confession for the night is I don't think I've ever seen "It's a Wonderful Life" all the way through.

    I've never even started it.

  • Made potato soup & chili for dinner, got the kids bathed & had a cup of hot coco & mini marshmallows with them. Am about to lay the baby down & clean up the kitchen then tuck the kids in bed (& probably myself too!).

Can't wait for the short work week next week!!
  • @TyrannosaurusLex‌ I LOVE giving gifts too. I would think that the majority of "friends" don't expect something as extravagant in return. Maybe just something homemade, and a nice card to show you put forth some of the same effort/you appreciate them. Won't matter what you spend.

  • Q: I have a friend who loves giving gifts and is very good at it. I think it's her love language, if you're into that. Do people who love giving gifts also want to receive them to the same degree? I am not able to reciprocate tit-for-tat for financial reasons, but I don't want to hurt her by not returning her generosity.
MIL is like that. She loves giving things. I think that any gift that you put thought and effort into should be fine. She says that one of her favorite gifts is a lamp that DH and BIL gave her. It's a replica of one that they broke when they were kids. She talks about it all the time.
  • Whoever recommended crockpot lasagna owes me $20.  It was like eating paste, the whole thing is going in the garbage.

Ew. Not everything needs to be made in the crockpot.

An important lesson that I learned after I attempted crock pot meatloaf and it turned out like moist cat food.

    Never again.

Reading that made me want to die.
I was going to say that some cat food actually looks pretty tasty.

  • TyrannosaurusLex Does she have a special hobby or something?
  • TyrannosaurusLex Does she have a special hobby or something?
      A few, she's a fantastic painter.
Maybe you can find a really nice art book. Maybe something that reflects your friendship or her personality and give it to her with a really nice note. You could order the book on amazon and send the note seperatly so that they arrive around the same time.
  • My child had an epic sobbing, blubbering, snot running breakdown tonight an hour after bedtime because he wanted to read a book.  Turns out, he doesn't know the name of the book, what it looks like, or what it is about and it is at the library at my Mom's house a state away.

    For serious????

And I have a headache so bad that it is making me sick.  Advil is doing nothing for it.
Foster Dog is cuddling me, it is helping.

Learning how the other person wants  to be apologized to really helped our marriage a lot. Saying I'm sorry  is nice for me but not necessary. I would rather you show me that you're sorry with your actions. I won't believe it until I see it. DH needs a verbal apology.
Eye pointy thing. Proper apologies are huge to me. I have worked hard on learning to apologize and take ownership of my actions and words (not valued in my childhood home) and I am very big on actions speaking louder than words. However, I still need to hear the words. And woe betide DH if his apologies include the word "but." A proper apology is not a place to hide an excuse.
Yep. We've been working on our apologies. This year has been really hard on both of us. I forget how much he's affected by things too. I realized that he doesn't really want a lot of words just an acknowledgement that he has feelings too. We used to not apologize at all but that led to some resentment on his part. Things changed as we got older and our relationship changed without either one of us realizing it.

eta: I meant changed not matured.

I LOVE YOU, GP. You are a hot piece of ass and completely perfect.

I love working out. Its my obsession. Also, cupcakes and booze. They kinda cancel each other out.
