What's your favorite or guilty pleasure boy name? Mine would be, Roman, Dominic, Malachi, Calvin... These I will never be able to use as my DH vetoed them. We both do like, Theodore (Theo), Micah, Reid, Jason. Share your names and thoughts!
Vladimir, Ambrose, Ansel, Anselm, Amadeus are some boy names I love but are too "out there" for use in the real world, according to my DH. I met a little boy named Suede and I loved it on him (yes, I know, it's not a legit name. Wouldn't use it but I love it.)
Of your list, my faves are Roman, Dominic, and Reid. Dominic is a front runner for our baby boy coming in December.
Atticus. I love, love, LOVE it. I can't get my husband on board for it.
Married 10/4/2014 (10-4, good buddy!) Baby Boy #1 born 1/9/17 Baby Boy #2 EDD 11/4/18
"It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do." -Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird
Cruz Amadeus Lucifer Cassius All great names and i would use them if they were not already taken in my family. That leaves me with Roman Atlas Atticus Caspian Dane Killian Deucalion Leonidas
I love names that mean wolf and this is my favorite. Unfortunately it's too soon. There have been so many other Adolfs but no one in the US remembers them so everyone would hate me and feel sorry for my son.
I love Wolf, Wolfram, Kurt, Dolf and Wolfgang too so I'm not too upset about it.
I love PP's suggestions of Lucifer and Beowulf! I've thought about those before. DH suggested Grendel and Zera (planet if the apes) as GP names and I would never use them either but I loved his GP names too and I love that he thought of them.
I also have a GP celebrity name. I love that Nick Cage named his son Kal'el. It was a dumb celeb-child-name thing to do but as a comic book fan I can't help but kind of like it. ">
Oh wow this is embarrassing. It's called GP for a reason...
My ultimate gp would be Ransom. If anyone has seen the man who shot liberty valance, that's where I heard it and fell in love. If I ever have twin boys I'm putting my foot down and naming them Roman and Ransom.
My other love but wont use is Atticus. To kill a mockingbird is one of my all time fav books.
Guilty pleasure that I'll continue strongly pushing for should at least one of these twins be a boy: Linus. It's my favorite boy's name, everyone's heard of it so it's simple to spell and pronounce, and it sounds great with our ridiculously common surname. DH keeps rolling his eyes and saying it's too dorky, but I think I might still have a shot.
Guilty pleasure that I'd never actually use: Bernard. It's such an "old man" name, but I think a little Bernie would be adorable. Any time I even hint at it to anyone, though, I am quickly assured that I am in the minority here.
Guilty pleasure that I like despite my better judgment: Bennett. It's trendy and it's surname-y, but I like it better than Benjamin. And if these are boy/girl twins, I think it goes nicely with my #1 girl name (Alice).
My DS is Roman. We love his name. Other boy names I love but could never use for various reasons: Ezra, Atlas (as of 30 seconds ago when I read this post - LOVE it!), Orson, Henry, Soren, Dmitri, Nico.
I love Roman. Its our top pick if we ever have a DS. GPs: Rocco, Wolfgang, Amadeus, Augustine... Not out of the realm of possibility I just don't think we'd have enough kids to warrant using them ETA Gunnar
Before we found out we were having a girl, I really liked the name Adrian for a boy. But my husband vetoed it for being "too feminine", haha. I also really like the names Atticus and Grant.
If GP just means names that I love and DW would never, ever go for, then that would be a very, very long list. If it meant just names that I love but would not actually seriously consider for a child:
Aragorn
Feanor
Fingolfin
Glorfindel
Spottingatheme?
Belisarius
Hannibal
Hamilcar
Rhadamanthus
Florian
Ashurbanipal (he was a terrible human being)
Ashurnasirpal (so was he)
Lucifer (it means "light bringer" - such a gorgeous name, such bad cultural associations)
Ba'al
13+ yrs ago when I had ds1, my roommate in the hospital had named her daughter Lucifer. She planned to use Luc (pronounced Loose) as a NN. I wonder how she is doing in middle school now....
Omg. We were joking the other day about naming a girl Lucifer nn Lucy. I don't know how it came up but it involved siblings named Adolf, Cain, and Stalin. Poor kid!
On the not-normally-GP list, William, James and Nathaniel. BIL is Nathan James, and Grandpa James turned out to be a scumbag (after BIL was named.) DH just dislikes the nicknames for William.

Other GP boy names for me are: Neville and Hannibal (too pop culture referencey), Damien and Desmond (DH vetoed).

We (or rather, I) decided on Griffin Allister, so I got it, but i don't hear either name very often so I'm happy with my choices.

I love Torsten. We were convince to actually use it if we have a boy, but the reality of our hatred for the nn Tory was too overwhelming.
