@mrshudson618 - that's great that you got to go play volleyball and even cooler that you know how! I'm a terrible clutz at trying to play things like that. Hopefully you get to play more often. Hope those boys slept better the rest of the night for you!
@sparkymcgeee - that sounds AWFUL! I kept thinking of you unknowingly putting your hand in a pile of puke. GROSS!!! That virus has to give up and be gone, NOW!
@Stacey099 - hope the rest of your night was quiet and your early wakeup was not painful.
@Encchanted - sorry about the snoring and the no clean sheets why does that always happen? Hope you got some good sleep.
@dinomama13 - that is awful!!! I hate when the brain disconnects like that. I've touched a hot pan before. Burns suck. I hope it heals up quickly for you.
@mystererae - hope you get all done that you need to today, too!
@maryannespier - I'm sorry your little cutie is giving you such a hard time with sleep. I hope that he has a breakthrough soon and everyone at the Spier Casa can all catch up on their rest.
Also, wtf, BIL?! He sounds like more and more of a winner with every story. L-)
Thanks @lancomechica how are things going over there? Schedule staying calmer?
@beckyanddon - NOT THE MAN COLD!!! Noooo... I hope it passes soon, with as little whining as possible.
@MRads - you are so right. At least it's not Monday! We need to do so much for Turkey Day, but I don't even care. Come on Turkey and a day off!!
@econmama - The 20s are definitely cold, no matter where you are! New wool coat sounds great Pics?
@fabk - sorry that you don't have snow. Would that have slowed your steps down at all? :P
@cshum24 - stay warm up there. Brr! And good luck with the conference. Hopefully they all have a nice time together while you are gone. I get old threads sometimes too. I hit the refresh circle in the upper right and it updates for me.
@lizabethann06 so sorry about little guy being sick ( I think you guys have maxed out your sick episodes for the year. FX that everyone feels better for a while. All the snow for you!!!
@kaylakim - HOOOOORAY for all THREE STTN!! I feel like this gives us all hope and is a major victory! Kudos for getting more exercise, too!
@missymr - way to stay positive I hope tonight is better. Hugs!
That sounds awful, @LauraB1016. Here's hoping for a calm day.
@Audrey1787 yay for crib sleeping all night. Chapped little drooly baby Hope it clears up soon.
Hey @atlvol, I'll take another cup. Thank you! And please, have a seat.
Way to go with the productivity, @casey78! Hope today is great, also. Also, HOLY SNOW!!! Wth!
Ooh, @gutsymama - I hope the mess wasn't too big. And what is that measuring spoon in? Oh, I see... a cement truck.
Good luck with the cold weather, @biggunsbo. I know you'll do just fine at the conf. Give her a "bless your heart" at least, though, okay?
Ewww, dentist visits are awful, and early ones... so sorry, @N0702. Hope it goes quickly!
Sorry you are having a rough first tri, @KikiCohen. FX that it calms down for you soon.
@simone711 - I agree... no snow. At least until Christmas. Or January.
Hey @mermomo5 - college recruiting!!! Already?! Oh my.
@stephyfaith - Hopefully FL warms up for you! Have a good trip!
@Byjove03 - cold fall is good... this is instant winter and it's too soon! Whine, whine.
Hey @Spartanmomma - good luck with the FIL's cath. Hope it goes well.
@jamis1284 - I've never seen that before. I'll have to see if I can find some, too. And doubling up on the Keurig. It's that kind of a day. Also, nothing weird about not sharing pens. I HATE when people chew up my pens. Gross. Just go ahead and keep it then.
I agree about the cold, @amparo1981. Could you put a bundleme on the bike? Maybe a blanket under LO too?
@haddocky - you are big on commitment. That's a good quality. :x
Also, I should not bump in the middle of the night. My MOTN posts barely make sense to my mostly awake brain. Oye.
Ooh, that's so nice, @econmama! I like the lines and the details on the back. Landsend seems to have nice stuff. Hopefully it keeps you toasty all winter!
Forced sterilization for poors, Maryanne? :-q No one should have a forced procedure ever. Doesn't mean I completely agree with some choices some make but it's your choice to make.
Uggg last night was hell. Keenan went down at normal time, but was kinda squirmy so it took DH a while. He was up at midnight (DH got up with him) and back down by 12:45. I was awake most of that, just because I've been having trouble getting back to sleep when I'm woken up in the middle of the night. Kennan is up again at 1:30, and I get up with him. After cuddling and 3 attempts to get him back in his crib, I wake DH at about 2:30 because I'm about to pee my pants. Well that all just woke K up. We rock in his room from 2:30-3, but no luck. So we go downstairs and have a bottle. Again just wide awake. So I turned on Sesame Street and dozed on the couch with him. We watch SS until about 4:15 (I might've drifted a bit, but not much). I go get DH to trade me and when he realizes K is wide awake says "godfuckingdammit Keenan!" and grabs him. I swear it looked like he was going to shake or throw him on the bed. He's never done that before and wouldn't ever, but I wasn't quite rational. I burst into tears, and when I cry, I ugly cry with giant sobs. So DH is asking what's wrong, I'm bawling, and Keenan is wondering WTF is going on.
Anyway I then slept in til almost 7. Keenan was somehow still awake. He crashed on the way to my mom's and was sleeping when I left. I'm hoping tonight is better.
@Encchanted My husband has been snoring hard lately too. I
cringe when I hear it because I know I’ll never get back to sleep. I wish he
would just roll to his side but he can’t because he has back issues.
@lizabethann06 if I could pack up the snow on my driveway in
the winters, I’d send it your way!
@gutsymama We found out ¼ measuring cup in the toy bin…
@ilovemyducks21 Please talk to DH and tell him if he needs
to be verbal like that to express his frustration, fine, but that he should NOT
pick up the baby during his outburst. I’m sorry you had to go through that.
Some of my random thoughts for the day....
We started to TTC again since the miscarriage in September. The doc said I could try as soon as my first period so we are officially TTC.
Our home will be paid off next month. I'm so freaking excited. We have worked so hard and thrown every penny at the mortgage that we could since we bought it in 2006.
LO barely wanted to eat for 3 days and his poop was borderline diareaha but last night he actually ate a lot better.
I heart my fitbit challenge group!
There
are three reasons for breast-feeding: the milk is always at the right
temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can't get
it. ~Irena Chalmers
@ilovemyducks21 That sounds like a miserable night. I'm so sorry. It's hard to see a reaction from your spouse that you think is inappropriate. I get really frustrated about that.
I'm bumping from a hotel room because Grimm picked us and they are setting up our house to start filming tomorrow. Our house is going to be a witch's house. She is going to be a somewhat recurring character. They will come back again at the end of Jan to film again.
I requested a Residence Inn on this side of town so I wouldn't have to cross the rivier to get the boys to their schools. Big mistake. It is two levels with a loft above. The boys have been chucking stuff over the side for the past two days. This morning we woke up to find underpants hanging off the fan. And the stairs are so steep and I can't keep DD off of them. I'm going to have to request a place with no stairs next time.
Queen, I totally know what character you're talking about!!! I'm so excited for this. I think it's the captain's mother. She's the only other witch they've introduced.
That all said, I'm sorry the temp place is a pain. How long do you think you'll be there?
I love how folks still hold on to a 225 year old theory that has been refuted again and again survives. 8-}
Isn't this often called "faith" ?
Totally a different thing.
I didn't mean in this context and I wasn't talking about religion. Strong belief in something based on an apprehension for spiritual or other reasons for which there is no proof (according to who you ask, I guess).
Thanks guys. It's frustrating for sure, and I think that's what set the tears off. The swearing has been going on for several months (since he started helping with MOTN wakeups) and has actually gotten a lot better. And it's never been with a raised voice, it's just one of those "wtf, why am I being woken up?" kind of things. It's hard because DH is frustrated with the situation and then I get frustrated with him for his frustration. I know he's not swearing at me or at Keenan, just the situation but it's still hard. What happens when K can understand him? I know he's working on it, but it's still hard. I swear this pregnancy is setting the waterworks off lately.
@Altima80 - The picking up thing I wasn't clear on. I handed LO to DH, thinking he realized he needed to get up with him. He thought he just needed cuddled in our bed. All he really did was lift him up, but with how tired I was and with the swearing and being dark in our room, it kinda looked like he was going to toss him on our bed. I do plan on talking to him to see if I misinterpreted, because that's very possible.
Thanks for the commiseration guys, just a really sucky night. I know we've all had them!

Her name is Henrietta? My drawing room is going to be her potion room.
We will be here 2 more nights. They will be moving all our furniture back and cleaning on Thursday, so technically I could go home nad keep the kids upstairs that day. (Which I might do since I'm having a tough time getting DD to nap at the hotel.
My friend who was overdue had her baby yesterday! He is almost ten pounds and has the chunkiest, squishiest face ever!!! He's adorable!!!
My mil and sil will be here Thursday to Sunday. I mentioned to dh I was going to make a roast for Saturday since the kids love roast and I can toss it in the crockpot so it's not a huge amount of work. He mentioned it to sil and she pitched a fit. She only likes to eat beef once a week and she had beef on Monday so we need to make something else. :-w This shouldn't really bother me but everyone bends over backwards for this chick and my ils fawn over her like she's gods gift to society (29, lives at home rent free, parents pay for her things, on her 100th pt job, complains about all her jobs/coworkers/bosses on fb, mild conspiracy theorist) and treat my dh like garbage, so the fact that I have to now plan something else for dinner that the kids will eat too really rustles my jimmies.
I'm sorry for everyone who is having such crappy sleeps and illness. It's the worst, I feel for all of you. >:D< ~O)
@kmrr86 break the cycle of bending to your SILs wishes! Make your beef. You can tell her she can bring her own chicken or whatever, or she can skip next week's beef to make up for it [-X
My 7yo golden retriever (the gentlest, sweetest dog in the world!) doesn't particularly care for Lucas. I have tried very hard to keep L from pestering him, but sometimes he pets too hard or tries to show the dog where the dog's eyes and teeth are (which means poking his eyes and sticking his hands in his mouth), and he loves to play with the dog bowls and he thinks it's hilarious to chase the dog with his trucks and ram him with his walk-behind toy, and as hard as I try, sometimes those things happen. Mostly the dog just tries to avoid him, but our house is not large, and the dog has spent enough time alone between NICU and hospital visits, I couldn't bear to keep him separated from us. Sometimes he gives warning growls, and I try to praise that and help L understand what that means.
This morning the dog was laying on the floor, L crawled over and petted him a little hard, and the dog reared up and snapped at him. I really, really don't think he would intentionally harm him - I think this was a warning, too - but either a tooth or a claw caught L's cheek and left a little welt that I think is going to bruise.
Any advice? I don't want to let either of them get into a worse situation.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

(hugs) My DH is like a different person in the middle of the night.
I would tell her that she either eats it or not but that's the meal. But I'm that way with my children too. Mean mommy over here. Oh and I would be even less inclined to accomodate someone who acts that selfish and entitled.
Oh gutsy that's so hard. I don't really know what to say but I thought of your parents. Don't they live on a farm or something? Could they care for the dog for a few years? Just until Luke is a bit bigger? I hate the idea of rehoming but sometimes I feel like it's the best thing for the dog. And kid.

Yeah, both of our parents live out in the country with a lot of land. That's got to be last resort though. B is our baby too

@LadyBlue07 How does your dog get into the bed if there's a baby gate? Jump? Either way - our house is 90 years old and cramped. There's not much room for his own space He has a bed in the corner of the dining room but there's not really a way to block it off - we already barely have a path to walk through in that corner.

@gutsymama they're small so they walk under the end table. Can you put a crate in his corner and teach Luke to stay out?
Maybe, but doubtful. His crate is large, and we don't really have room for it - and right now it's in our closet, and every time L gets a chance he climbs inside because apparently it's super fun to sit there and swing the door open and shut
Maybe I just need to be more firm about these things?
ETA: I mean, I don't let him, but he hasn't stopped trying either.

Thanks everyone. Dh and I actually fought about this (which was so dumb. We're more of a bickering type than actual fighting) and I told him "fine! If it's sooo important to you then I'll bend over and take it up the ass for sil just like everyyyyone else does! It's all about sil." He felt I was being rude to his family over a "simple" request and I should just make something else that everyone will eat.
I think I will make the roast and I'll make her a chicken breast or something. I'm super excited for this visit.... Can you tell?? . Thanks for all your inputs J13 peeps! You made me feel less rude and crazy for being annoyed. :x
Ugh I wish the doctor would replace his damn fax machine (yes we still fax) It never even works. The other day I tried to fax something like 10 times...I'll don't think it ever went...and lo and behold this fax I'm trying to send isn't working either.

Good thing the building across from mine is shorter because I absent mindedly just took off all of my clothes instead of just my coat, boots, scarf, and outer sweater. Can't even blame sleep deprivation. :-??

@mrshudson618 That’s so cool about volleyball. Is it indoor or sand volleyball? I play (or used to, I should say, haven’t since LO was born) sand.
@sparkymcgeee So sorry about all the puking.
