Welcome to the Been There, Done That Check-in!!! Check-ins will be every Tuesday. Your check-in leaders are @Carol77B and @Justone13.

This is check-in is for anyone who is past their 2nd IVF cycle (including any FETs) or if you have suffered multiple losses. If you haven’t made it to your ER but have done two cycles this place would be great for you!! After multiple failed cycles we aren’t as chipper and full of sunshine like we were during our first cycle. This group is intended to give us a safe place where we can vent, update, obtain info and bond with other veteran IVFers. If you are currently cycling or waiting on a cycle this group would be a great place for you! You are more than welcome to join the monthly group if you are currently cycling and if you are hanging onto a dream feel free to stay with that group also and can always post here too! Any questions or concerns just ask!!

So we can keep a running list of all you lovely ladies can you please fill us in on where you are in your journey below. Please include what cycle number you are in, where you are in the process and what your plans are for the future.

Right now I am just wating for our day 3 report tomorrow. Hopefully this new protocol improved the fragmentation we usually see in our embryos. I'm not sure if we will get a 5 day report on Friday, but we should get our final freeze report on Saturday.

QOTW: DH and I met through mutual friends on a float trip. We ended up at a few of the same gatherings over the next few months, but he didn't ask me on a date until we met again at our mutual friends' wedding. He caught the garter and I caught the bouquet.

AFM: I am plugging along on the Del Estrogen shots every 3 nights. I go back for a check on the 30th and then start the PIO (joy) lol. Today I go for my first fertility acupuncture appt at 2! I was thrilled to find out that my insurance covers it.... AMAZING! I really hope that I like the lady and can get scheduled for the days around my ET. Can't wait to see everyone's updates today! Sorry so late I was conserving energy aka being lazy this morning since it's my last day off!

QOTD: I met my DH at work as he would stop by to see friends but I really ignored him. Months later I met him officially at a friends house and we started talking. I had just gotten out of a long term relationship and he was only supposed to be a rebound. 5 years later here we are

I might have forgotten to update here. The ER went ok. We had 10 retrieved, 10 mature, and 7 fertilized normally. I was hoping for a few more since we have quality issues with our embryos, but now I just have to hope that the estrogen priming protocol, all the supplements, and the immune treatments improved my egg quality enought that we get a few blasts out of this batch of embryos.

@justone13 I actually completely lost all my will power and patience and tested Saturday at 6DPT and got a BFP! Beta was 42 then and yesterday it was 95. Our official beta isn't 'till tomorrow but things are looking up at the moment. I hope your acupuncture goes well today. I have never gone but a lot of people seem swear by it around here.

DH and I met through friends. It's an incredibly boring thing to say actually.

@Justone13‌ I hope you enjoy acupuncture!! I love it. Also my transfer isn't until 12/29 so I have a while yet...but I have a feeling it will be here before I know.

AFM: I already started on prednisone and some supps. Rest of the meds start 12/9. I have my first acupuncture appointment set up for 12/1. I'm excited to start back up!!

QOTD: Friends set up DH and I. I met him at my friends house and they invited him to my birthday party the next day. He came and the rest is history!!

Nutmeg8484 yay!!!

AFM we converted to an IUI on Friday after just four days of stimming, due to a lead follicle. (It also helped that I had already discussed with my RE my plans to cancel if there was anything not going well with the cycle, since I was unhappy about the AFC drop from 16 to 12 and worried about not doing any suppression, so I believe that if we had not had that conversation, he would have pushed me to continue with an IVF that would have been a failure). I let DH be the decider as to whether we cancelled or went for an IUI and he wanted us to go for it, so we dropped my meds to a lower dose for the last couple of days and we are going to trigger tonight (lead follicle is at 19 with two at 12 something) for an IUI Thursday afternoon. This all went super quickly, and I'm trying to be optimistic that we'll be one of the lucky 15-20%.

QOTW: I met my husband at a Meet-up at a local bar and our three year anniversary of that first meeting is tonight, so we are going to have a date night at the same place. Then I go home and do the trigger shot (in my stomach (yay!) sometime between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m.) and TI (which is probably way too much TMI, lol!)

@twinkie0612 that's a great start and I hope you continue to get great reports. I hope EPP is the answer for both of us!

AFM: I go in on Friday for bloodwork and confirm O. I should start estrogen patches over the weekend or Monday (and begin three days of Ganirelex). Just waiting....

AFM: I had my IUI on Nov 8, Saturday. I am hopeful for one moment and not hopeful for the next. Today is 10day post O/IUI. I POAS this morning and it was BFN. But then I had some cramping around 11am and tiny bit of blood when I wiped down there (TMI). Was it implantation bleed? I am not sure. I am also feeling very crampy and a bit nauseous so I am still hopeful. Maybe this is a late implanter (or I am getting my AF which is too early but oh well).

QOTD: My husband and I went to the same middle-school, high school and college. We knew each other since the 7th grade. We briefly (like a month) dated when I was in 9th grade but we were just kids! We then officially started dating in my first year in college and have been together since then (we are celebrating our 15th anniversary of our dating on dec 13).

I just got a call from my nurse that they want me to stim for another night before triggering for my IUI, so now it'll be on Friday. She said that my RE wants to see if we can get one of my other follicles (I have two 12s) to grow, so I have two follicles in play for my IUI. I'm pretty happy about that plan. Best part is I don't have to come back in for more early morning monitoring, I just go back in on Friday to drop off the sample for "washing" and then back an hour and half later for the IUI.

zeynsom I know with my BFP I had cramps that started several days post O/ET, so your symptoms sound promising to me, but it's so hard to stay sane with the symptoms or lack thereof. FX!!! And I love that you knew your DH back in middle school!!!

My beta isn't until Dec 1st! 15 days after transfer so I get the full TWW. I will be testing before then but not before 9dp since I've never had a positive hpt before 14dpo (I only test with digitals since trying to decipher a line test gives me anxiety).

QOTW: DH and I met online shortly after I split from my XW. We both thought it was just going to be something fun, casual, and very temporary. Now we're married. Funny how life works out.

@hmz819 - how's the prednisone going? That stuff makes me crazy... insomnia and hyperactivity, but the progesterone seems to be balancing it out now. Either that, or I'm adapting!

So, we had an incredible cycle with our donor

19R, 17M, 17F, 2 transferred, 4 frozen... we are completely blown away and I keep pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming! I'm feeling very optimistic, which is an interesting change. Beta is on Monday 11/24, and we are going beta or bust.

QOTW: We met in college... both music majors!

QOTW: DH dated three of my friends before me. He asked me out for coffee, I told him I didn't like coffee. I really wasn't interested, but after he asked me out several times, I caved. I figured he couldn't be so bad if he was still friends with all my girl friends. He cooked me dinner, I had never been treated so well by any man. Who knew that I would marry him the first time he asked me out?

AFM: I cannot believe it’s been two weeks when I was so hopeful, Saturday, Nov. 8th things went to shit. My embryo did not look good at all, as it was an early blastocyst, graded a C. My RE suggested we watch it overnight to see if it progressed, unfortunately it didn't. My WTF appointment went well. We really didn't discussed what went wrong. Frankly don’t care what went wrong, because it will not change my decision to move away from doing a cycle using out OE or OS. We discussed what our best chance of success would be. She was very clear that she is concerned for a shared DE cycle because we only get half the eggs even with the use of donor sperm that will decrease our change for success, but we would have a slightly better chance than donor embryo. She gave us a 65% chance of success for donor embryo with the embryos they have set aside for us as they were created from donor eggs, great quality, and frozen via verification. She actually thinks that traditional Donor egg cycle using donor sperm will give us the greatest changes for success, 75%. I explained that the cost for a traditional donor egg cycle using donor sperm is our biggest obstacle for this route. My RE proposed a discounted cycle for a traditional DE cycle using donor sperm since I am a returning patient.

Due to finances DH and I decided to look into the donated embryos. I looked at donor profiles for the set of donated embryos, and right now it just doesn't feel right, so I passed on those embies, and decided to take a much needed emotional and financial break.

Hi Ladies
I am 1dp5dt with 4BB and 3.5AB blasts. We found out this afternoon that 2 early blasts we were watching were not good enough quality to freeze. We decided before cycling that we want to be done with IVF after this cycle, and whatever embryos we got was it, so its a big blow. I was expecting to have frosties, we did higher stims to get more eggs for more embryos and its all been kind of a big fail. I am very thankful for the 2 embies we transferred but since we have transferred 5 blasts in total before, I am not super hopeful they will stick. Its just that much worse knowing we have no backups and this could really be it for us for biological children.

Hello Ladies!

I have had an emotional week. We were told we would be canceled due to mucus being in my lining. Then today my RE looked and said everything looked good. We transferred two 8 cell embryos. I am officially PUPO!

Hi ladies. I'm late. Sorry.

Nothing new going on in the TTC arena. Mr O2 and I are going camping for thanksgiving. Then we head up to the mountains for Christmas and then the beach for drunk camping during New Years. That is all I have going on while I wait to start Lupron again in January.

I don't think I updated here. I got my day 5 report, nothing to freeze today. Most of my embryos are still in the cleaved stage, so they haven't progressed since day 3. I have one grade 2 compacted embryo that they are watching. If it makes it to blast and remains a grade 2, they will freeze it tomorrow. I am not feeling hopeful right now.

I got my final freeze report and I am in complete shock. The compacted embryo that they were watching yesterday expanded and made it to blast today and was frozen. By some miracle, one of my embryos that was still in the cleaved stage yesterday, compacted and expanded and was also frozen this morning. We have 2 frozen expanded blasts! I had a feeling when I woke up this morning that our compacted embryo had made it, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would end up with 2 blasts to freeze. Assuming all goes well, we are planning a FET in January.
