Unexplained Infertility Blows (intro)

Hi all, I'm Birdie and I am finally read to jump in and join the community! DH (33) and I (25) have been TTC since May 2013, saw the RE in August 2014 (unexplained infertility) and plan on going the Clomid and IUI route in January 2015. We wanted to finish out the year trying naturally because I am very, very hesitant to take the Clomid. I have been lurking here since we have been trying, just never signed up for an account (why, I do not know), and have heard quite a few negative things about Clomid, but hey at least I'm seeing an RE and being monitored! It was TB that informed me of the importance of FF and tracking BBT, which I have been doing since July 2013 (except this month, I needed a break!).

A little about us: DH is self employed in real estate and I work in a vet clinic. We bought a new house this summer, and we have slowly been doing home improvement projects. We have a cat and a golden retriever, who are our babies :)

I look forward to getting to know all of you! Any and all experiences with IUI's is welcomed, as I am a little nervous!

    Welcome! I have experience with Clomid as well as Femara. Clomid didn't work for me (thinned my lining and left me with a cyst) but I have had great experience with Femara. Totally depends on the person and hope you have a good experience with Clomid!

    Diagnosed PCOS 2013
    7th Round of Fertility treatment (Femara + Ovidrel + IUI) 12/14 = BFP. DS born Sept.15 
    Natural BFP Feb 2017. DD born Oct. 2017
    Natural BFP Aug. 2019, EDD April 2020

    @CaitOst21 That is why I am a little nervous to take the Clomid, but I also am trusting the professional!

    Met with RE Nov 2014: Cyst on left ovary. Laparoscopy/Hysteroscopy 12/3 to remove cyst, endo, polyp, and fibroid
    12/14: Natural cycle = BFN
    1/15: Starting Femara for IUI #1

    @Birdie185 It works great for some people so I agree, take it at least for the first cycle and see what works. I only did Clomid one cycle and then they switched me to Femara.

    Diagnosed PCOS 2013

    I have no experience with Clomid, but wanted to say hello and welcome to the board. :)
    No longer posting on The Bump due to the appalling misconduct of the staff and of its parent company, the XO Group. Four thousand  active, engaged members do not represent "a few bad apples" and we are not trolls.

    Welcome to the board! Unexplained infertility does suck. I just got that diagnosis last month after going through testing with an RE. I actually go in for my base line ultrasound tomorrow and will start clomid after that. It is a very powerful drug, but if properly monitored, it can also be an amazing drug. I will also have an ultrasound before my trigger shot to make sure it is safe to proceed. Talk with your RE if you still have concerns about it. They should be able to answer all of your questions.     Thank you! We just moved to Ohio 4 weeks ago and we miss our Hawkeyes...although I do not miss the weather they are getting there :)

    @Reagan1010 The weather here is awful! I do not enjoy having to drive in the snow prior to Thanksgiving... Also not cool that it was high 60's and then like a week later...SNOW!

    I'm on mobile so I hope this works.

    We originally wanted to but stayed local. It was Jamaica themed though (steel drum band and all) We have been so many times and love it there!
