We got about an eighth of an inch of snow this morning, but DS was so pumped I had to take him out to play in it before it melted. He is going to flip when we get an actual snowfall!
I'm cooking up a storm over here. Lasagna with homemade noodles, bolognese sauce and a bechamel. DH better appreciate this, it is more work than I set out for.
I have to go buy sour cream at the grocery and I hate the grocery but I don't like eating DH's enchiladas without it. I am having legitimate anxiety right now.

What's wrong with the grocery store? I find Sundays can be pretty quiet at our store.
Jealous of your quiet Sunday grocery stores! Pretty much any store here is a madhouse on Saturdays and Sundays.
Anyone have any ideas for quiet indoor activities to do with a 22 month old? I feel like we do the same old crap on rotation and he's getting bored with it. And if we're being honest, there are only so many times I can handle doing the same puzzles, reading the same books, mr potato head, and blocks.
He has a small play kitchen, but it doesnt seem to hold his interest for long (I need to buy him more accessories to go with it), same with his little people setups and doodle pro. He also has a small kid size table and chairs, but he'd rather just do laps around our tiny living room instead. Both of us are sick with colds right now, so I'm in need of something new to occupy him quietly!
I hate the grocery. I think I have a grocery related panic disorder. I can't ever find anything, people get in my way, everything costs too much. I had to wait behind someone for like 4 minutes in the sour cream aisle. Hives.

Seriously, I would rather pay 10 dollars and get groceries delivered to me. LOL. Sundays are the WORST at the grocery store.
@MrsT0514, DS spent like 45 minutes in his high chair with play doh yesterday! Mind you, he has never played that long before, but it is usually a 20 minute activity.
He is really into this snap together train track right now too. It frustrated him at first, but now he will spend some time with that

Snap together train track...I'll have to check that out! We do have play doh, but it usually doesnt last long bc he still tries to eat it all the time, so it really is a CONSTANT supervision type of activity for him.

We JUST stopped constantly trying to eat the play doh like last week. DS is 26 months, so a bit bigger than yours

LOL. Glad to know my kid's not the only one who seems think play doh is delicious!!
@SunnySideUp26 what kind of window cling on thingies did you get & where can I find them? DS would prob really like those to stick on our glass front door!
DS2, 19 months, loves putting things in and out of anything. Fridge magnets under the table then on the fridge. Markers in their bucket, then out again, repeatedly. Same thing with our bag of trains. I've made peanut butter play doh that he can help me mix, color, play with, and I'm not worried when he eats it. He helps me cook. I'll chop everything up and make piles on the cutting board when he's distracted. Then I let him put everything in the cockpot and stir. Granola bars are good to make, and then we cut them in fun shapes with cookie cutters. And a healthy homemade snack. He also loves to stack, so blocks are great. He loves making forts with the couch cushions and will crawl all around them for awhile.
GAAGAAAHHHH...dh just informed me that the box spring that goes to the queen aize mattress we were planning on putting in DS's new bedroom had a couple mice living in it (we stored them in the shed..He wrapped the maftress in plastic so im not sure why he didnt wrap the boxspring too). Wtf. The entire reason we didnt decide to go with a twin bed for his tiny room is bc we already had a mattress/box spring that wasnt getting used, so we wouldnt need to buy a new bed or anything.
So is it worth it to just buy a new queen size boxspring or just go ahead and buy the twin mattress/boxspring since IT will allow for more space in his room? Since we're gonna need to dig into ourpockets now, I want to be sure it's worth it.
Thanks for all the great ideas guys! I already have the toy shopping cart with "groceries" & other assorted "food items" on our Amazon wish list! I also am gonna look into getting him a tack box and some pom poms next time I go to Wal-Mart. I just went and added the Do-a-Dot marker set with activity books to the list too...those look super fun!
@mcbenny not sure how much damage was done to the boxspring from the mice, but accordong to MH "its junk now", so that cant be good. In the meantime, we brought in the mattress and took the plastic off. Thats still in excellent condition so we plopped just the mattress on the floor for now and MH is either gonna look into just building a boxspring type foundation thats hollow so we can store stuff underneath. Unless we can find one for cheap elsewhere. I'd hate to lose out on using a perfectly good queen mattress, so yeah.
Thanks @avswolf. Your recipe sounds similar to the ones I've made, minus the parsley. I'm thinking I need to do it in the crockpot so it simmers longer. Maybe that's making the difference.
Poultry and Italian seasoning are seasonings I use in mine.
Benedryl is safe during pregnancy...yes? This fucking cold can DIAMFF. I am literally sneezing every 5 GD minutes and I piss myself every time I sneeze. I am miserable right now. All I want is to stop sneezing so I can fall asleep.
Re: Sunday randoms
And by anybody, I mean @pobrecita . You always have yummy recipes when folks inquire.

It is overrated for someone with little kids. A whole lotta work & at the end nobody cares about it but me lol
