I'm doing Parenthood right now. I am in love with it. How have I never watched this before? Also, huge fan of Gilmore Girls. Other great options are Scandal and Revenge.
If you like Parenthood, or even if you don't, Friday Night Lights is absolutely worth marathon-watching on netflix. I also second the vote for Sherlock.
Enthusiastically recommend Friday Night Lights if you've never seen it. LOVED that show. as I recall one of the seasons (2? 3 maybe?) was weak - I think it was 2, now that I'm trying to remember - but overall it was great and they recovered well after that one lousy season. Now I want to watch it again!
This! Friday Night Lights is a great show!

Netflix and hulu kill me lol I get hooked on shows and by the end of them, they aren't caught up or the show is discontinued. My favorite ever was "Weeds". I have Hulu + now and have gotten hooked on 'Nashville' and the new crazy show called 'Resurrection' which is really different, but has a lot of good actors in it.
I second House of Cards (Kevin Spacey is just phenomenal), Bones for fluff. Friday Night Lights was great for a while but somewhere in season 2 I agree it got weird. Sherlock is AMAZING.
Is American Dreams on Netflix yet? I used to watch that show religiously, it's super fun and only one or two episodes made me ugly cry. Also, if you have Hulu (I think), Downton Abbey is great.
D14 November, because I am finally not on mobile, how I feel in 3rd tri:
Lots of good recs above, if you're looking for comedy I love Arrested Development (seasons 1-3)-- give it a few episodes before you decide, it grows on you and The League (which is a bit darker) and Jim Gaffigan has a stand-up that I could watch a dozen times, including light humor about pregnancy.
Also, I've seen a lot of recs above for Call the Midwife, but have been advised by friends to stay away from it as I am anxious/neurotic so I just through I'd put it out there for any other women who are worried about possible complications.
ETA: If you like Ricky Gervais, I highly recommend the series Extras, which is mostly comedy with a hint of drama, and a constant parade of A list celebrities mocking themselves.
"And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
I cannot believe that I forgot the West Wing. also, if you get to the end of the season and there's a season missing, I just go to project free TV and watch it on my computer. I know people disagree with that, I pay $150 a month for DirecTV, so I do not feel a little bit bad about watching the shows online just because I watched it late and missed a season. I feel like I paid for those shows, I just missed them, haha /flamepantsactivated
I'm currently obsessed with Prison Break but will be done with the entire show before I know it. I can't take the suspense and have been binge watching it!!

For Parenthood fans, you should watch Friday Night Lights if you haven't already.
Criminal Minds was recently added and I watched that obsessively.
