Re: Furbaby Friday (NEW weekly thread)
QOTW:
1. Remi is the black and tan furbaby. He is a 7 year old Lab/German Shepard/Husky mix. I got home from a local humane society when I was a Junior in college. He is what I call my "heart dog".
2. Zeus is the tan furbaby. He is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. I got him from a local humane society too (different one then Remi). He is such a good boy. He's changing people's opinions of the breed every time someone meets him.

Coffey, 2 1/2 (Feb 11, 2012), Pembroke Welsh Corgi, new breeder in AZ. It was their first litter and he was the runt. He still is! Most are 25-30 (or more if overweight), but he's never been over 18-19lbs.
Gage, 1 1/2 (March 11, 2013), Bernese Mountain Dog, established breeder in a small town just north of San Diego. He was the runt of the boys. His parents were 115-130lbs but he's still under 100. FTR, established breeder doesn't mean quality. We made a mistake with him (double grandfather, which we were clueless about at the time). Well, the inbreeding led to issues. He has no immune system and he's on a special diet. No treats or special bones or anything, because they all make him sick. He will be on meds his whole life. I'm just glad he ended up with us because we can afford his care. I recommend finding a breeder who doesn't inbreed or adopt from a shelter if you are experienced with dogs.
PCOS | Anovulatory | Metformin + Letrozole
We have 3 fur babies (well technically a fourth if you count the spider, but I'll spare you all that). Rascal is the oldest, the all dark cat at 9 who we adopted from a shelter. Next is the cat with white, Gremlin, who we got from a friend who rescued an abandoned litter. He's 6 years old. Finally the big baby of the family is our 4 year old purebred Doberman, Remy. We actually found him at a local shelter too. Someone gave him up even though they paid a fortune for him from a breeder in Germany. We have a bit of a full house, but wouldn't have it any other way.
OHMYGOSH I love this check in!!
Joe is our Boxer. He is 5 years old and a total mama's boy. He still plays like a puppy. Sweet as pie.
Cody is a 17 year old Maltese. We recently inherited him from my mom and dad who are both ill and in a nursing home. He has lots of special needs but is a sweet heart. He weighs about 8 pounds.

QOTW: This week will be more of a "get to know you". Tell us a little about your furbaby. Names? Age? Breed? Where did you get your furbaby?
We have 3 kittehs- Soju, Alley, and Sadie.
Soju (white chest) and Alley (in pirate mode) are both 12; they're littermates that I got from my now-ex-husband's LT in South Korea in 2002. She found out that she couldn't take them back with her, and I think her roommate didn't like cats, so she gave them to us. I flew on a commercial flight, so they were able to go back to the States with me. Originally, their names were Poji/Boji and Goyangi (I think that's the right spelling; basically, Pussy and Cat). I was not going to take them to a Korean vet and be like, here's my Poji I wanted to rename them Soju (the j sound is just right for her; it's a Korean alcoholic beverage) and Kimchi (a Korean dish), but Goyangi was a daddy's girl and he wanted to name her Alley. I think it does fit her pretty well. They both have deformed tails. Soju's is like a pig tail, it's straight for a couple of inches and then curls around. Alley's is about 3 or so inches shorter than the average cat and is straight, with a little crook at at the end. Soju is totally my baby cat, she loves snuggling up next to me and gets really mad if I cuddle with Sadie. She's okay with me cuddling her sister though.
Sadie, the Siamese mix, is about 3. She was an abandoned cat an old neighbor found in 2011, all scabby and super skinny. We were just going to foster her, but my now-husband completely fell for her, so we had to keep her. She's crossed eye and full of piss and vinegar- you'll be petting her nicely and suddenly she goes into wild kitty mode. The sisters never bite or scratch, so she makes up for them. And she loves MH. She follows him everyone around the house. She loves me too, but she's definitely a daddy's girl.
We recently lost our big boy, Romeo. MH found him in the parking lot of his apartment complex and took him in in 2006, after his cat passed away. He was the sweetest big baby. He always had to make sure that he was touching both of us when he snuggled in bed with us. He'd be cuddled up against me and have one paw on MH or vice versa. He was 8 years old and loved by everyone that met him. He got invited with us to our neighbor's scrabble party! And I swear he sold the house I used to own. I had it on the market for like two years, and the people that finally bought it mentioned that they kept looking at it because they wanted to see Romeo again (MH, then boyfriend, had moved in just a few months prior to selling it).

It's my pleasure to introduce you to Professor Harold Worthington... aka Harry. He is a bloodhound and his litter was born on our wedding day, so we knew it was meant to be! Although I underestimated his sloppiness, he cracks me up on a daily basis! He just turned 3 so I"m hoping his energy level will fall soon
This is our fur baby Malley at 8 weeks old. In December she'll be 2. My family calls her Killer Kitty since she won't let anyone near her or me. She loves to cuddle and do biscuits on my neck. I have to be careful and clip her nails or else it gets red and looks like a hickey.

This is my baby Bastion. He is a 10 year old rescued Rottweiler mix. He is a stocky and strong 85 pounds, but thinks he is a lap dog. His hobbies include: keeping watch of his home, tearing apart toys in less than 10 mins (he tore that stuffing-less toy apart in 7 mins), working out with mommy and daddy (he is carrying around my 8lb free weight like a bone) and trying to please daddy (his sweet "look what I brought you, Daddy" face is ALWAYS on).

I had her long before I met DH, but the love she has for him is borderline ridiculous. Everyday, about an hour before the time he usually comes home, she will go sit by the door and wait for him. It's pretty adorable.

We joke that we shopped in the scratch and dent store for our two kittehs. They aren't perfect, but we love them!
This is Noah (aka tons of fun, lunch box, chubbles or meeowzalbub). MH got him from his sister about 8 years ago. She had found him scrounging through a dumpster in downtown Columbia. We think he is 12. He is a biiiig boy, as in currently 20 lbs and that is after a really stringent diet. We are pretty sure that he is constantly saying "Snacks?" in a high pitched inquisitive voice. Besides, eating, his favorite activity is napping. He is particularly handy on a cold winter night.
This is Cyclops (so named for obvious reasons). She also goes by snack pack and little one. We've only had her for about 2 years. Her former owner is a friend of ours who moved to Scotland and didn't want to make this little lady suffer such a long voyage. We don't know how she lost her eye, but we like to imagine that back in her rough and tumble days she was a tough cookie. She is the sweetest little thing. She meeps instead meows and will only eat if someone is watching her. Her depth perception is not the best, and it is ridiculously adorable watching her try to chase bugs.

We have 4 furbabies! 2 dogs (GT and Turbo). They are a Yorkie/chihuahua mix and a toy fox terrier. We also have two cats (Shelby and Leonidas). They are a special breed called the Savannah which is a cross between a domestic cat and an African Serval. They are pretty awesome! They are extremely smart. They follow us around, open doors/cabinets, usually like to play in water, play fetch, and are super super sweet!
This is our little girl Shelby.
And this is Leonidas.
We only have 2 fur babies. They are shih tzu labradoodle sisters. They're almost 3 years old and came from a whoops litter from my mom. One is tan and takes after her mom, the labradoodle. The other is black and white and takes after her daddy, the shih tzu. They're both adorable and have their own special personalities.
We also have 5 reptile babies. Our newest additions are mulder and Scully. Mulder is a grey gargoyle gecko. She loves eating crickets and watching the fish swim around. We think she thinks they're food on the other side of the glass. Scully is a 8 month old leopard tortoise. Her hobbies include eating weeds in the garden and swimming in her water dish.
Our oldest pet babies are 2 aquatic turtles. They are both at least 10 years old and will hopefully move to a backyard pond in the summer. "Big turtle" loves doing laps and eating lettuce. "Little turtle" enjoys laying unfertilized eggs and knocking down her filter.
Our middle reptile baby is a 2 year old corn snake. She hides in her bedding or dark corners of her enclosure.
Best of all, all our pets are girls, as far as we know. SO loves this fact and that he's the most masculine in the whole house!
We rescued Bo first, he's between 4-5 years old, has a giant head, tiny legs, and a long chunky body, the vet has no idea what kind of dog he is. He's the best, which is why we got another dog. We didn't think he could bark for the first 3 months we owned him.
Brady is #2, he's between 3-4 and a Jack Russell-Beagle mix, when we saw him at the SPCA he wasn't eating, his hair was falling out, and he was making a terrible screeching noise instead of barking, obviously I had to have him. He's still a nervous wreck and takes Prozac for that, he sleeps in our bed, right between us, on his back and puts his head on our pillows. Oh, and he is obsessed with me.
I found Scout when I was driving between nursing homes for work, someone threw her out of their moving car on a busy road. I stopped and picked her up, she was covered with fleas and in heat. We weren't supposed to keep her but by the time an interested family came over to see her I had fallen in love and had to keep her. She is between 1-2 and has quite the personality and can jump higher than any dog I've ever seen, she's also in charge of the other two. No one has any idea of what breed she is but shes adorable. When we took her to the vet for the first time she didn't have a name, when they asked I immediately blurted out Beyonce, the other dogs have a name that starts with a "B" so she should too. Well, now we get reminder post cards saying "Beyonce needs her teeth cleaned" "It's time for Beyonce's rabies shot", it makes us laugh
ETA: Grammar is hard. So is spelling.

We adopted him as a kitten in 2007. I grew up with dogs and most of the people we know are dog people...and they all think he's fabulous! He's very chill and personable. He's also the world's best heating pad, which is fantastic for me on this super crampy morning.

We got Ash 3 years ago from a shelter. She's the grey kitty. We had planned on changing her name, but after not being able to find her for 24 hours once we got her home, we started calling her name and she magically appeared. She isn't super cuddly, but she goes in spurts of wanting tons of attention and not wanting to be touched. Her meow sounds really grumpy.
Bruce Wayne is our cute little black kitty. We got him from a shelter on St. Patrick's day this year. He is a lover of a kitty, and he has a mischievous streak. He loves straws, and he'll steal them from cups and run! He also sleeps in the weirdest positions (as seen in the pic below). His meow is the exact opposite of Batman's voice- he still sounds like a kitten when he graces us with this voice.

The first picture is of Frederick Armand (Freddie, Freddie, sweet boy). He has the softest ears, is so sweet and he'll break your heart with those incredible eyes. When we got them, you could count his ribs he was so skinny. We don't know how long they were on the street.
Next is Heinrich Fritz (Fritz, Bullgoat, Dr. Frussleman). He is an attention whore and is crazy strong. He doesn't love giving kisses but occasionally he'll surprise you, which is the best.
We constantly get complimented on them... how attractive they are, what good boys they are. Ironic since we didn't birth them ourselves
ETA: this is amlrunner. Posting from my phone at 4am.
