Ugh. So. We're doing the sports theme still but S and I had different visions on what exactly that entailed. I was picturing generic sports art on the walls, there was a series of photos I had seen on etsy that I loved and wanted to use, but when I showed S he was like "uhhh no. We're doing our teams"...which is such a huge range of colors it's going to be terrible.
I might be acting like a bit of a spoiled brat but if that's what he's going to insist on doing then I told him to do it himself and wished him luck on finding crib bedding that is green (his pick) and doesn't have forest animals or Winnie the Pooh on it.
I tried to compromise with him but he won't budge. And I'm letting it go since he's let me get my way with everything else. But I'm not happy about it or excited about his room anymore.
I'm not doing a theme, but like others have mentioned just a color scheme with accent pieces. I think I like the gray/blue colors and I love horses so I'll try to find a few horsey things to decorate with here and there.
Love these brilliant ideas! It hadn't occurred to us to do a theme, just gray/white + a pop of color. But we found out the sex last Friday and somehow that finally inspired me to start browsing last week and found myself, like @mangomimosa, really drawn to foxes. And then owls. And then I realized I liked nocturnal woodland creatures which is kinda random, but kinda like @sdion78 & @torileea . Great minds
3rd world problem: Advice on bedding. DH and I have finally decided on the PB Harper bedding but can't decide the color. I like the dark blue and he likes gray. Problem is our crib is going to be a soft brown so not sure grey will go with it.
We're going with whales. It was extremely hard to pick between that, and Winnie the Pooh. I've adored Winnie since I was a little girl, but H liked the whales better so I compromised. Plus, I feel like the whales aren't completely overdone.
Where the Wild Things Are. We have a print that my DH had in his room as a child so that was our starting point. Gray walls, white stain dressers, gray crib, gray glider, yellow/white ottoman, and a few prints and shelves for the walls.
We are going with gray chevron as well with light blue accents and dark wood furniture. It's not going to be over the top chevron but the bedding and curtains will be. Darker grey walls. I wanted it to be calming. We will see. Lol.

We did a generic sports theme, with just a touch of Yankee pride (we live in NJ). DH grew up in the Boston area so we try to not drive his parents crazy with it. DH is a huge Yankee fan. PBK has a really cute sports theme set (JR Varsity) that we had for DS. Having a girl this time but no theme yet
We are doing an Eric Carle themed nursery. Very hungry caterpillar, brown bear ect
@lisap0924.. I've literally spent 30 minutes looking for this thread because I remembered someone saying they were doing an Eric Carle themed nursery. Zulily is having an Eric Carle event right now.. lots of books but they also have stuffed animals, etc. Just wanted you to know so you could check it out!!

I bought the PB Harper in gray...I love it!....I wanted more neutral colors gray and white with light blue accent color. I also bought the PB Catilina crib in espresso, which is brown I think it will look just fine together!
