Babies R Us Registry

To those of you registered at BRU, have you noticed any of your already purchased items being listed as priced "N/A" and the link to the item's page is disabled?? I'm concerned about this, because I have about 50 items purchased, and over half of them are listed this way, including the $500 crib! I stalk my registry almost daily, and I know the crib purchase looked normal and showed the normal price just a few days ago. I wouldn't worry about it, but I want to make sure I'm getting that 10% gift card credit for all of these items.

I've already had a few issues with BRU since opening this registry, and google searches have shown many more common issues. For any of you that may not have started your registry yet, I would NOT recommend BRU!

Re: Babies R Us Registry

  • Generally, when they change to N/A that means the item is no longer available.  Sometimes it's not completely gone though, they could have relisted it under a new item code but other times it's not available at all.

However, if the item's already been purchased it doesn't really matter.  The 10% discount is a registry completion discount, meaning things that have NOT been purchased yet.

  • Yeah the gift card credit is smaller than 10%, I am pretty sure. The completion discount is 10% off everything you buy later on, though.

And I am pretty sure it means the item is no longer available. Some of ours did that as they were seasonal or the company released a newer version. Registries take some updating now and again.

And if you are due in January, I'd consider getting a crib somewhat soon. Some of those take 6-10 weeks to come in, which is why we abandoned the crib we had registered for at BRU for a crib on Amazon that was delivered a week later.

@LooneyLife‌ Well, they do the completion discount AND they give you a gift card that is worth 10% of everything bought from your registry (the first $300 is only 5% back, but then everything else is 10% back with no limit.) They mail the gift card 6-8 weeks after your due date. I just don't want to wait until I get that gift card to find out that items listed as N/A weren't included. I guess I just don't understand, if the item has already been purchased, why don't they just leave that entry alone instead of making it unviewable and clearing the price?
  • I'm registered with BRU and called their customer service number about the items showing as N/A and was told that it means that the item is available in store only and temporarily not available online. However, when I printed the registry at the store it showed all of the items and their proper price.
  • I'm going to call on Monday and make sure... Because of all the horrible reviews I've read about their registry service, plus the problems I've already personally had, I don't trust that I'm going to get the right credit for everything.
  • @Valm999‌ Awesome! I won't worry about it, then. Thanks! :)
  • @southernyankeegirl‌ Yeah, my MIL bought the crib almost two weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's in yet, but hopefully soon! We're going to keep the baby in our room in a pack and play for the first few months, anyway. It would be nice to have the nursery all good to go before she gets here, though!
