First IVF cycle - Sex Question!

Hi everyone,
I was a frequent lurker/mediocre poster on the secondary infertility/ttc a sibling boards a couple of months ago, and took a mental health break from all my bumping. To introduce myself, I am 30, DH is 29. We have a (just turned) 3 year old DS, who was conceived after 2 months of trying. We have been ttc #2 for quite awhile now, and did receive a diagnosis of secondary infertility after the 1 year mark of trying. I am in the beginning phases of my first IVF cycle, and am wondering about sex during stimulation. I have not had my ER yet, and have not triggered O yet either. I am in the stim phase, using gonal f and menopur each night. My Dr. didn't mention that we shouldn't have sex, just that it might not feel comfortable due to everything going on in there.

My question may be a stupid one, but I'll take full responsibility for it! I am wondering if it possible to get pregnant naturally, and also through the IVF process in the same cycle. Should we not have sex? What was everyone told?

    Once we began stims for both cycles, we were told no sex.

    We were only told no sex after ER. If you start to get unformfortable, and you should, stop having sex. Your ovaries get very large and you there is a risk of ovarian torsion-not good.

    If you got pregnant during an IVF cycle, something in your meds failed. Either suppression wasn't enough or you ovulated before your ER. This isn't something you should hope for...(not saying that you are). There is the risk of HOM and also you don't really want to be on all those meds when you actually concieve. I have not heard of this happening during a fresh IVF cycle though.

    There is one lady here who recently got pg during during the suppression phase of her FET.

    We were told no sex after trigger, but I think after the first part of the stims I was way too uncomfortable anyway. (Not to mention probably a hormonal jerk that DH wanted nothing to do with) ;) They should put you on the suppression meds (Gana.relix or something like that) to keep you from ovulating so that the other meds can do their thing, so that part isn't something you should worry about.     Thanks everyone! I had just been on Menopur and Gonal F since last Thursday 11/6, up until today. Today I also added in Ganarelix, and will trigger tomorrow.
