I'm 22 Weeks and my baby is really bothering my ribs on the right side a little under my breast. I gently pat , rub and lay on the opposite side and nothing works What should I do? Any suggestions
My bottom right rib keeps sliding out of joint, usually in the evening. Stretching helps, and My chiropractor can always help. but our bodies are just shifting and expanding. I'm 22 weeks.
Googe "fundal height" and you will see about where the baby/uterus is situated by week. The baby isn't by your ribs until the last weeks of your pregnancy.
I agree with PP- it's not the baby, yet. That being said my ribs hurt too (but on the left). There just isn't too much room in our torsos for all that is going on in there. I find reclining helps, but nothing makes it go away all together.
I can't imagine it's the baby yet, but there's definitely something getting pushed up on my right side and it's already annoying. With DD I had little feet poking the left side of my chest for the last month and am kind of dreading it happening again, because it sucked and unfortunately I couldn't get her to move. I have a short torso and carry my babies high, so there's just not much room for everything to go.

Hey the baby cannot come up that high. Even if you carry high at this week in your pregnancy the rib pain is mostly the crowding of uterus and pelvic contents and what makes it unbearable is indigestion...loads of gas after eating causes sharp stabbing pain below the ribs the best you can do is take a walk after your dinner or meal ..slow walks or try to fart out or Tums or you could ask your doctor for a syrup based medicine for indigestion that will reduce the gas hence the pain :)hope this helps..
Maybe try a chiropractor. It's fairly easy to have a rib be out of place just by coughing, vomiting, gagging and certainly possibly from all the changes our bodies are going through. And I agree with others, try stretching.
@anumraza The phrase "fart out" just made me LOL. I just picture a preggo keep trying to squeeze out farts without being able to. :-)
I made the mistake of drinking a mountain dew tonight, and after spending 3 hours enduring baby girl stomping on my vagina like a hyperactive vagina-hater, I can now attest that you can indeed manually rotate the little buggers. She is now abusing my side, and I couldn't be happier considering the alternative.
If it's pain right under your right ribs it could be gallbladder related, I had issues with that my first pregnancy.
Funny this was just posted. I've also had pain for the last four days in my right rib cage. It comes on after I eat, every time after I eat. Google has led me to believe possible gallbladder issue as well. I'm calling in to my OB tomorrow. Question though, what do they do to determine gallbladder issue? And any home remedies available? So far I've heard to stay away from fatty foods even healthy fats. Seems simple enough but oh so difficult at the same time. OP not sure what your pain is like but might be worth looking into with your dr. Best of luck.
