Does anyone ever feel like when they sit on the toilet for any bathroom reason that everything is weighing down on your V? I feel a lot of pressure down there, sort of like when baby dropped, but this feels more like my insides are about to fall out.
@bridie926 I had this after delivering DS. It would be worst when I was on my period (to the point where it wasn't just when I was on the toilet, but standing, walking, etc. Really, I was only comfortable when I was sitting on something hard while I was on AF.
Turned out I had a lot of damage to my perineal floor (I had a 3rd and a 2nd degree tear with DS) and it didn't heal quite right. The side with the smaller tear healed a lot stronger than the side with the larger tear. During my period, the hormones caused the ligaments to loosen and I felt the pressure you are describing.
I found all this out and was able to fix it when my MW referred me to pelvic floor physical therapy. My physical therapist evaluated my pelvic floor strength and the degree of scar tissue from my tears. Basically, the exercises were just kegels, but she helped me identify how I should properly do them for the best healing and how often to do them. I was skeptical about PT working, but it really did a great job. It was much better within a month and almost completely gone 2 months later. I'd highly recommend it if you find the problem persists.
@catsinawindow That sounds pretty much like me. Worst when I'm on my period too. I've got an appointment this month to see my OBGYN. Last they checked I healed well. Hopefully it just means I will need to work it out too! Crazy the things having a baby does to you lol.
My OB/MW felt that I had healed fine by their standards. The pelvic floor physical therapist checked for things that the OB and MW didn't check for. For example (I hope this isn't TMI) she asked me to do several sets of kegels while she did a pelvic exam. She was able to feel the difference in strength between the two sides and feel that my muscles were remaining tensed even when I relaxed them. From this information, she was able to suggest kegel exercises to best address the issues I had.
@catsinawindow Thanks for the info! I'm definitely going to look into all of this. Although it's not fun, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one dealing with it. Hope it has gotten better for you!
This thread is making me feel so much better about the "down there" smells, lol
Also on my list: painful c/s scar area, linea negra that has faded a little but is still very visible, struggling with PP weight around my hips, constant headaches, extremely stiff/sore feet and ankles that make me hobble around for a good 10-15 minutes every morning when I wake up until they "loosen up".
@frenchchocolate611 I had bad night sweats during pregnancy too. I'm over sweating.
Hehe same. I remember having to chnage my clothes and get a towel to sleep on in the middle of the night a couple of times during pregnancy. It was gross. :-/
Well it seems I can now add horrible sleeper" to my list of oddities postpartum.
For the past 4 nights I have been sleeping so disruptively that DH has had to wake me up. Weird things, like I toss/turn, talk and moan in my sleep, last night I did all of that and was sleeping with my eyes open. The night before, I must've had an extremely real dream that LO was crying and the monitor wasn't working. I woke up, and I could still hear him crying. I physically heard it, but apparently I was crazy because he was sound asleep when I checked him.
In my short sleep span from 3-6 this morning I dreamt I was in a musical with Frank Sinatra and he sang "Come Fly With Me." The strangest thing was when DH woke up and turned on some music to get ready for work, the first song he played was "Come Fly With Me."
Ugh the hair loss is out of control. I find chunks of hair everywhere and am starting to wonder how I'm not bald yet. I swear my hips are wider too (and they were wide to start).
My c-section scar still hurts and I've been having poop problems for the past few months, my doctor thinks it's just a result of hormones regulating. I wish they'd hurry up cause feeling like you're going to poop yourself every time you need to go is stressful!
Hair grows back, right? RIGHT?? I washed my hair this morning and it was falling on chunks, in the shower and when I was brushing it. My hair dresser had warned me about this when I went to get my mom haircut but I feel like it's getting worse. I also get pelvic pain from time to time.
I pulled my hair back the other day and noticed in my balding patches around my hairline that my hair is beginning to grow back! I got so excited I showed DH and he was like, meh. I'm glad my hair grows fast and can't wait for it to get back to normal. The hair loss has slowed down in the last week or so. There is hope!

I hope I'm not going crazy lol.
