I'm angry for you @tinyhumantoe. I don't think car seat placement is a parenting decision to be made alone. If you're not comfortable with it, that should be enough reason for your husband to listen to you. This woman has a lot of balls in my opinion to be trying to influence these types of decisions. And I agree with everything @hmp1 said, put your foot down now and it will be easier with #2.

I did beer of the month club for DH a few years ago. The only problem we had is that someone has to be home to sign for each delivery. We lived in an apartment at the time so we had to go to UPS to pick it up every month - pain in the ass.

I did forget about that part but I had it delivered me at work haha!

I did too! But I was an insurance agent at a small agency then. I can't have booze delivered to a federal agency - ha!

She's a ditz. It's not really a control thing, it's more a "we didn't even have carseats!" no-research kind of thing. "We didn't do that, and our kids survived!" "I know they say not to put a baby on its stomach, but we did that!"

But she does a lot of pushy things out of ditziness... like buying SIL a huge puffy snow suit for her soon-to-be-born, saying, "I know they say not to put a kid in a carseat in these, but she's in Colorado for God's sake!!!" I said, they say that because babies were dying in them. "Oh, I didn't realize that! I thought they just made up rules all the time!" Whut?

Sigh.
