We had a "snow day" more on the threat of snow than any actually coming down. I'm gmail chatting DH and he says "watch, now we'll get like 10 inches." A little while later I respond with "you'll show me 10 inches!" Apparently I did that while he was in a meeting and it popped up on his screen. He thinks he closed it in time for other people not to see it but he's not sure. I can't stop laughing.
For a little TBT comparison, here's a video from just 6 months ago:
well that didn't work.
Basically, 6 months ago he was just starting to army crawl, and mad about it

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

@Audrey1787 - I was all set to go into work this morning and my boss told us to just work from home today. Last I checked the weather, they've downgraded the weather warning to an advisory. We got about 4 flakes of snow earlier and then it stopped. I'm not sure what the rest of the area is like, but we've gotten no other precipitation at my place yet. We'll see what happens but it's my understanding it will stay slightly above freezing, at least in the Vancouver/PDX metro area. Luckily we haven't lost power at our house yet. Keenan is staying entertained by watching Sesame Street while I try to work... I think it's just supposed to be cold down there, so stay warm!
You guys, we have another first: Lucas is watching TV.
I was semi-ignoring him (he was playing and not upset, just wanted me to play too) long enough to send a couple emails, and then I realized he was no longer tugging and patting at me.
I don't even know what this show is - I've never been able to watch a kids' show long enough to get to know them. I don't want to move to get the remote because he might see me move and lose interest. It's an orange kid with purple hair?
We're going on 5 minutes of captivated toddler. This could be huge for my productivity. And my peeing.

@maryannespier I agree.. There are lines and it's good to let them be on their own but corrective actions are important... It's not like I let G go around biting kids because he has to learn to be on his own. Also, Giles is so sweet to be wanting to share! LO wants everyone to share with him but never share with others 8-} I'm working on it but it's so difficult!
At playgroup he played with a boy for the first time ever! He usually stays by his own but today he was kind of agreeing with him and they were following each other for like 10 min... that's a big step! I was so happy

My thoughts exactly. I didn't even post. It was lame too. How many weeks are you and what are you doing to the nursery?
No skittles for poor people started up on A15. I think its the first time it was mentioned there on a UO thread. Unless I missed something. I think a record was set because I could swear it usually comes up a lot sooner than this....

I can't believe she is such a bitch all the time, she doesn't deserve to be a grandma and she doesn't deserve to know how amazingly well Abby is doing.. f her!
Hhmmm, I don't know. It seems a bit harsh to say someone doesn't deserve to be a grandma. I think Prim's MIL's main issue is a cultural thing. No way am I defending her MIL's very obnoxious ways and reasonings, but I can almost guarantee that MIL absolutely loves her grandkids to death. She just shows it in very offensive, but surprisingly common to Asian culture, ways.
Again, please don't think I'm anywhere near Prim's MIL's side. I'm sure I'll get flack for it. I agree she's BSC. She just reminds me of my mom towards my SIL. But my mom absolutely loves my niece like no other. And yes, she loves my SIL, too. She just shows it....differently.
Today sucks. While LO is feeling better and has been vomit free for over 24 hours, I hate having to be back at work. I walked into over 300 emails that need answers right now! Everyone's being a douche. My boss is claiming that I really have lesser vacation days left to use up (not like I'd be able to use them all up anyway, but I'm still pissed off). And it's frkkn snowing.
I feel like such a grump. I just wanna be home with my little love right now.
So the doctor was released from the hospital yesterday. He's doing much better but I no idea just how bad it was. My Co worker said she asked him more about it today and it was an infection in his prostate. And only 50% recover from that. @-) :-O
I had no idea how bad it actually was. Yikes!

I think @lizabethann06 is rubbing off on me. I was slightly disappointed when we only got like 2 inches of snow and in the far northern part of the state they got like 16 inches.

We took my little sis to build a bear last night. She was all set to get the adorable Minnie Mouse bear. Then my husband happened. My button pushing husband thought it would be a good idea to push the "let it go" sound button. Of course she instantly wanted the Elsa bear. So I have listened to a snippet of that song over and over again all day long. My mother told me K will now be getting a voice changing mega phone for Christmas.
DH got Nikita the "top toy" singing and light up elsa. She doesn't play with it much. jadzia on the other hand...found it. And loves to push the button to make her talk and figured out how to move her arm to make her sing. Loudly.
Y'all can keep your winter. It's 50° here in 80% humidity. I am freezing my tits off. If cold turns@lizabethann06 into the ice princess then it turns me into the ice bitch. I hate being cold.
I only like the snow up til Christmas. Then it can gtfo. And if has to be 30 degrees or up. If only. Haha.

I'm not allowed to give my attention to anything else according to the gherkin. Can't pet the cat, can't prepare her dinner (I feed her proper food in case anyone was worried - she eats very well), can't hug my husband. Good thing she is so freaking cute.
Omg you guys. Today I dealt with the worst cluster fuck of insurance and referrals and care providers I have ever experienced.
First, with Tricare Prime, I have to have a referral to see my midwives. Well, I had one with my last pregnancy, but I called Tricare today because I got a bill and found out my referral expired in April. Which really sucks since I've had multiple appointments in the past three months.
I call my previous doctor whom I haven't seen since I got my last referral only to find out he is no longer at that practice.
So I called Tricare again to change doctors, got switched to one, called, they're not taking new patients.
I did that FOUR FREAKING TIMES.
I finally stopped calling Tricare and just looked on the their website to see if I could find a doctor myself. I found one who accepts Tricare Prime and is taking new patients. I run to their office to fill out new patient forms and see how long it will be for me to get in for an appointment to get a referral. Two weeks. Ugh. But my next MW appt isn't for another three weeks, so hopefully I'll have a new referral by then.
Anyway, I called Tricare one last time to make sure that doctor is on their provider list and THANK THE GOOD LORD he is.
I can't believe I spent the majority of my day doing this.
Most of the time I'm super grateful for Tricare, but holy fuck sometimes it's so frustrating, especially since we're nowhere near a base and finding providers is a little more difficult here than normal.
Tl;dr Tricare is great until it's not and then it's really frustrating.
In case you can't get in time, did you see if they would back-refer since you attempted to get the referral in time? I've had that done for me before.
Work was weird today. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I'm so tired and really just want to read my book and eat my pb cheesecake.....but I'm still rocking G. He's been asleep for an hour... I need to get a grip lol
