Hi everyone, I'm a lurker, I never did an Intro but I have been following all along.... I'm due Nov. 21st
Anyway. I was scheduled for a c/section today, this would be my second. I had to be at the hospital today at 5 am. so no drinking and eating after 9 pm for me last night. I get there, i'm all prepped, guy is standing there to give me my spinal, and the phone rings.... its my dr. she said they made a mistake and they can't deliver the baby today. They messed up the dates, and they can't legally do the c section until tomorrow. She told me that I should go to Village Inn, and come back tomorrow. (she did not even come in and tell me herself. I got a phone call!!!)
REALLY????
I told her she could schedule me tomorrow but I may not be there. I told her I was going to go to the University. So today I went and picked up all of my medical records, and the University is going to deliver me on Monday.
Did I overreact?? What would you have done??
Re: ok...so get this....
Also it would have been nice if she told you in person but realistically so many Dr's are overbooked and have other issues come up so I can understand the phone call but also understand your annoyance.
What a mess - I would have called and spoke with her or complained and asked for her to call you.
Go back tomorrow and get the VIP treatment/hook up - she owes you now

BFP March 19th! - Due Date11/25/14
I think this is just a little dramatic. Just a tad. I think part of becoming a parent is understanding that we can't control everything and learning how to roll with the punches.
I had a RCS scheduled for last Friday, FIL drove 5hrs to be in town to watch older DS for the 4 days we would ve at the hospiral. I got a call at 7am (was suppose to be there at 9am) Friday that they had to cancel my RSC because they were at capacity and had no open post partum rooms. I was given thw choice to reschedule for Sat, Sun, or Mon.
We chose to reschedule foe Sat. I was bummed I had to wait another day but we made the most of it and enjoyed a quality family day with FIL and DS. We had to rearrange who would care for our DS the last day we would be at the hospital as FIL had to be back to work.
The hospital sent us a huge bouquet of flowers after delivery and the dirwctor of nursing came to visit and personally apoligize because in her words "we never cancel schedule c-section, we bump them time slots for emergency but never cancel completely."
While it was nice for them to do so and I appreciated the sentiment I also thought it was a bit over the top. I guess now I know why they would do so, if people act like you on a normal basis that is scary and sad.
