November 2014 Moms

ok...so get this....

Hi everyone, I'm a lurker, I never did an Intro but I have been following all along.... I'm due Nov. 21st

Anyway.  I was scheduled for a  c/section today,  this would be my second.  I had to be at the hospital today at 5 am. so no drinking and eating after 9 pm for me last night.  I get there, i'm all prepped,  guy is standing there to give me my spinal, and the phone rings.... its my dr.  she said they made a mistake and they can't deliver the baby today.  They messed up the dates, and they can't legally do the c section until tomorrow.  She told me that I should go to Village Inn, and come back tomorrow. (she did not even come in and tell me herself.  I got a phone call!!!)

REALLY????

I told her she could schedule me tomorrow but I may not be there.  I told her I was going to go to the University.  So today I went and picked up all of my medical records, and the University is going to deliver me on Monday.

Did I overreact?? What would you have done??

  • I don't blame you for being annoyed/irritated at all. However I probably wouldn't have switched doctors/hospitals personally. Just would rather deliver with someone I am familiar with and I wouldn't want to wait until Monday to deliver when I could deliver tomorrow. But what's done is done, I'd just try to relax until Monday now unless you're starting to feel like you made a mistake.

Also it would have been nice if she told you in person but realistically so many Dr's are overbooked and have other issues come up so I can understand the phone call but also understand your annoyance.
  • I think the point was the Dr. just made a "call" I understand the 39week legal/insurance deal but I have two kids & need families help with school ect if you made arrangements and everything I would have been pissed!

What a mess - I would have called and spoke with her or complained and asked for her to call you.

Go back tomorrow and get the VIP treatment/hook up - she owes you now ;)
