Yes to baby wearing (Mr.DaBears is so excited to baby wear too, which is a huge bonus) but no to cloth diapering. I can use disposable diapers for cheaper.
TTGP since September 2013. All cycles were annovulatory due to Depo.
(Not gonna lie, I had to google "baby wearing") I definitely plan on doing both. Getting my hubs on board with cloth diapering wasn't easy but he said he'd try it. He bought me a new sewing machine so I can't wait to starting cranking out some cute diapers!
I have no interest in CD...I used cloth swim diapers for my son and dealing with those was more than enough. I don't have the time for it...I can barely deal with normal laundry.
We did do a fair amount of baby wearing when my son was younger. I had a moby, baby bjorn, and ergo and liked all three at different points. Honestly if I knew where my ergo was I'd still be using it now as a backpack but I haven't been able to find it since we moved...
I cloth diapered my first, and it was awesome! No leaks, no poopy clothes. And, all my diapers for this LO are paid for I also swear by my ergo, still, and used a ring sling and a wrap when she was younger. Hit me up with any questions. And, the CD board here is really really helpful!
I will definitely baby wear, still researching on CD. Using the subway system in NYC (which I do nearly every day), baby wearing seems to be the most efficient and realistic option for me.
I like the idea of baby wearing for convenience and mobility. I didn't realize until recently that it's a lifestyle choice. I just like the idea of having my hands free.
I'm interested in cloth diapers, but I don't know if it's realistic for us just yet. Especially if other people are watching the baby during the day. What would they do with the poopy diapers? And wouldn't the smell invade the room?
I cloth diapered my first up until he was a little over 1 year old. It was great and I loved doing it. Unfortunately, due to my washing machine (HE front loaders are difficult for CD), I had to give it up. Now we are in a new home with a top loader and I am so ready to bust out all my CD.
As for baby wearing - oh hell to the yeah. It was a LIFESAVER. I pretty much plan to have this next baby strapped to me all the time. I loved the Moby wrap for when my son was tiny and the Boba for when he got bigger. Although, I may look into the Ergo this time around. It seemed like it might have a bit more padding.
BFP 1/24/2012 - DS Born 9/22/2012 (11 days early!)
yes to both. I use a boba carrier although I want to get another carrier for the newborn stage (just haven't decided what yet!). We CD'd my youngest as well so we'll be using those diapers again (peachy green and bottom bumpers are my favorite for those curious although Flips are my nighttime go to).
I will def wear the baby. I'd love to do CD's but I have to do more research. I would e totally down if I used a laundry service but all of a sudden I suspect that negates the carbon footprint savings.
This signature is all for YOU. I'm on mobile and can't see crap.
I do both. Love them, and will be doing them again. I use mostly all-in-two diapers, I have approx 16 nb diapers and 20-28 one size, 2 wetbags, and 2 pail liners. We prefer prefolds for newborn as they'll fit better and last longer, and we use peachy baby and best bottoms for one size. We also have a few pocket rumparooz for overnights. For baby wearing I have a ring sling and an ergo. I prefer the ergo by a long shot, but its a very personal opinion.
I love CDing! I don't find it harder than sposies, and we save so much money. We didn't start until she was about 15 months, though, because I was overwhelmed by all of the options. I am still figuring out what newbie stuff I need, but I will definitely CD again.
@CassieK90, I know kids are all different, but my CDed 3 year old is pretty much Diaperz 4 Lyfe.
I want to baby wear more with this one. Right now we have an Ergo and a Moby.
I considered CD when I was TTC. I brought it up to my DH bf we became PG and he said no, because he thought it was the old school kind with pins and stuff! After I explained how much more improved they are, he agreed to doing it. But now, I am not sure! I had all these ideas prior to becoming PG and now I am not so sure, maybe it's just pure exhaustion and the thought of it brings more exhaustion!
I am happily expanding my baby wearing stash. I loved loved loved wearing G and I want ALL THE WRAPS and carriers this time around. I have an Ergo, a K'tan, and a Moby, and I am planning on getting a nice woven wrap for the warm weather days.
I have done and will do both. Cloth in newborns is SO easy (at least when breastfeeding). You just throw them in the wet bag (we have a simple human trash can that we keep a liner in, so it's easy and doesn't stink when they start solids) and then throw them in the washing machine. We use pocket diapers- mainly Bum Genius, but I've started with a newborn rental with both. I preferred Kissaluvs for the new ones. CD's are really overwhelming at first, but not at all once you get settled.
A Moby is going to be really, really hot in July. I'm excited to use my linen ring sling again
Did both with our other two and loved both CDing and baby wearing. I plan on using a Moby for going on walks at the beginning- this whole "kid born on the middle of summer" is so new to me. DD was born in March and DS in December. It'll be awesome to be outside
Anyway, CDing is fab. I don't even mind the extra laundry. I do love how much it saved us in dipes.
I am planning on cding. I cloth diapered #1 for the last few months of him being in diapers and it was very doable. I LOVED not buying diapers to throw away anymore. I even couponed for them and got them less than 10 cents each normally but still hated throwing them away.
I need to learn more about baby wearing though. With DS going to be 4 I need to be hands free and be able to chase after him lol.
Yup to both. Did both with DS. This time it'll all be free! Already have the soaps and the carriers (sling, moby, baby born, and ergo). I liked them all at different ages for different reasons.

I cloth diapered DD for about 6 months. We loved it. Unfortunately, we have well water and I felt like I could never get the barnyard stink out We're in pampers now.
As for baby wearing: Yes, yes, yes! I have an Oscha woven that I love, a moby we used when G was real little, an Ergo, and a baby Bjorn (which DH liked and I didn't).
The ergo was and still is amazing. We went to Disney in April, I wore DD through the airport and never had to take her off!
I loved my Ergo with my first 2. I also used a Hotsling w/ DD1 that I liked. Tried the Moby with DD2 but didn't love it. I will for sure be using my Ergo a ton with #3!
CD, probably not...I think if this was my first, I might have tried it. But at this point, ... I need to do more research.

I baby wear when they are young...like up to 1yr. I tried cloth diapers for a little bit, hated it and went back to sposies bc they didn't leak all over my pastor every time he held one of my kids.
Oh yes! DD was from newborn to potty in cloth, DS is still in cloth and this LO will have a fluffy bottom as well! My babies loved their carriers. I loved the Moby Wrap for the younger babies and the Ergo for the older ones. DS is just now starting to give up wanting to be in the Ergo
Have any of you ladies that CD made/used Diy baby wipes or do you just buy them from the store?
I bought cloth wipes from a store. Although this time round, I will probably make a few. You can also make your own fleece liners to help wick away moisture. Those are a necessity especially for overnight dipes.
Just talking about all this is getting me all giddy about going through my diaper stash.

You should post this on the Cloth Diapering board! I just bought cloth wipes from the store, but I know a lot of people make them pretty easily! @LadyAnnibal
I'm an obsessed babywearer. :P I'm also training to become a VBE (volunteer Babywearing educator) for BWI. We cloth diaper my son half of the time but we have paid washers that kill us in cost. The price will balance out with 2 in diapers, so we'll CD regularly with the new babe probably.
My 17 month old has been in CDs since birth, and we love them! Much easier than we thought. I am a babywearing teacher for Babywearing International, so we'll be babywearing for sure too
We will do both. DD is 23 months and we use GMD prefolds and thirsties or blueberry covers at home. BumGenius and blueberry pockets at daycare. We use fitteds with bamboo/hemp inserts and covers at night. I love that DD didn't have a single blowout until she was 10 months old (due to gapping from awkwardly sitting toward one hip in the high chair). I don't envy peeling a poop-covered onesie over my newborn's head :P
We used the ergo and moby from day one, and will likely use them a lot this time too. Hoping to try out a ring sling as well.
I plan on CDing, and occasionally babywearing. I've looked into a few brands of diapers I might go with, and hopefully this won't be our last baby, so it sounds like it'd pay off.
As for babywearing, I don't see why not sometimes, but I don't really see how it's a way of life or anything. I can see how it'd be convenient, though.
We will def be doing both! Cloth diapers were the only diapers that fit my first well and we never had a blow out once we started at 3 months. We love bumgenius 4.0 and blueberry simplex. I also am obsessed with baby wearing! We have a boba wrap that I used until 5 months with my first, a standard Tula, and a toddler Tula that I still use with my 16 month old.
I tried to CD with my DD, but couldnt find a combo that worked for us, it was too expensive to keep trying different types. So we use Honest Co. Diapers instead. I still babywear her at 12m, but want to invest in an Ergo this time, instead of just my Moby.
