  • Did you guys see Buzzfeed's "The internet's response to Kim's picture"? It was hysterical.

@catahoulatte‌ -I'm in hysterics here. My favorite "The shower at Kim Kardashian's house has 3 settings: hot, cold, and canola oil". This made me snort! Did you guys see the vag picture this morning? FFS, you're someone's mother!
I love that one too! DH and I were cracking up last night.

And I can't look at that one because 1-I'm at work, and 2-I just can't. Ew. It is so sad that she still feels the need to sell her body out to feel valued. She's a grown woman with a child. It's just...sad.

ETA: I have no problem with someone showing a little skin because sex appeal is huge. I'm not a prude. And there are classy ways to do it. But she is so far away from classy it's not even funny.

  • I am over a lot of "Pinterest trendy" things including chevron, cutesy mustache stuff, mason jars as glassware, etc.

No way. Mason jars and chevron for life. I could live without the cutest mustache stuff though.

  • I don't care what anyone says, I'm a Kardashian fan. They're gorgeous and have great style. You can't deny their PR stunts are working and thus brining them more attention because we all buy into it and talk about them and "break the internet" That being said, this new photoshoot is dumb. No I don't think she's photoshopped(spray tan and oil will hide a lot) but I am just tired of seeing her naked. She's showed us all before, we get it, yawn.
  • UO: I hope that these first time moms who freak about everything go away. I tried my best to freak only to DH and not on public forums. I don't need the rest of the world to know I'm BSC. LOL!

I will agree with you that the Kardashians have good fashion style. The PR stunts are definitely working. However I'd hate to be one of her children and discover my mother became famous from a sex tape and stayed that way by airing her personal drama on tv and the tabloids. Why would she think it's attractive to balance a champagne glass on her ass? Trashy.

  • I think mine is definitely unpopular....

I can't stand how crazy people get over their "fur babies". They are pets! They are not people and they are nothing like babies. I think the fur baby Friday post on my last bmb was the only one I consistently refused to click on and everytime I saw it I got annoyed.

Sorry but my crazy pregnancy hormones just had to get that off my chest.

I don't have any pets and my mom is constantly telling me: I don't understand, her dog is her baby, etc.
I'm sorry, but you really can't compare not having anyone to take your dog out to leaving my 22 month old home alone for 7 hours?!

Also, I hate the term "fur babies".

Sorry, totally disagree. My cats are a part of the family and they are definitely more than pets. No, of course they are not the same as human children, but they are still important to us and still a part of our family.

I'm totally okay with people having strong love for animals and saying they are part of the family. My problem comes when people act like they are children and actual babies. Like @hoping&waiting12 said, the pets can be left at home for an appointment or for a quick day trip. My 8 month old son, definitely not.

I don't call my dogs "fur babies" or confuse them with my child, but they are part of our family. They would do absolutely anything to protect us, love my DS and my H and I unconditionally, and we in turn love them to bits.

It's not completely unpopular.  I tend to agree.  I understand they are part of the family and so many people see them as more than just a pet.  But its gets a bit out of control.  My cousin's German Shepherd died the day after Christmas in 2013.  For the first four weeks his wife would post of FB how she was going to die w/o their lady in her life.  After a month had passed she puts the month anniversary of the dog's death and she still can't live w/o her and every day its harder and harder to breathe and how she can't go on.  I mean I get it..its sad but I think some people are wayyyyyy too dramatic about their "fur babies."

I'm still going to be a person after I have kids, not just a mom. No one expects my husband to give up anything or be a martyr, why should I? I mean, I'm going to support and raise my children along with DH, but my life as I know it isn't ending.

That's probably an UO, don't currrr.

I think one of my pregnancy symptoms is the growing desire to flame people who create new "OMG, I have no symptoms! Am I dyinggg? Help!!!" posts.

    Is this normal? HELP.

I know there's tons of new people every day, most of whom are new to forums in general. But GD read the Welcome post/blog and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.
I'm having trouble sounding nice on my replies at this point. I can only say "check out the symptoms thread!" so many times.

I think you have between remarkably restrained. you're doing a much better job than I could.

    This 100%

I was reading a great article yesterday that really summed up my feelings on the topic: https://jezebel.com/is-mommy-becoming-a-dirty-word-1656918859

I'm also going to be a FTM, and this pregnancy was planned, and I'm excited about the baby. But I have a lot of ambivalence and conflicting feelings about the cultural baggage around motherhood. We're all expected to be subsumed into selfless nurturing robot "Mommies" the second we procreate, and everything that came before- our experiences and aspirations and personalities- no longer matter. The only thing we're supposed to care about is our kids. And our partners aren't expected to do anything remotely similar. Once you have a kid you're a MOM, and that label trumps all others.

Some people may identify with that and totally embrace it, and that's great for them. But It's not me and it's never going to be.
Same. I have zero desire to be a "mommy"
I spent a hell of a lot of time finding myself. I have no desire to throw that out the window now.

------------ No. Just no. Losing a family pet can be extremely hard on people, and in many cases it can hit people just as hard as losing a person. Saying they are just being dramatic is ridiculous. Who are you to tell them what they're feeling about their loss and whether it's ok for them to feel it?
Well I told her nothing.  And she can feel anything she wants to feel.  I ignored her posts on FB because I think she is looking for people to feel sorry for her.  And she brings it up every month with pictures to remind everyone that she had this loss in her life.  And I will always call her dramatic.  That's my opinion.

When my cat died in my arms, it took me over a year not to burst into tears everytime I thought of her. I should have just told myself I was being dramatic, that would have solved everything. People grieve differently, if it makes her feel better to share photos, good for her.
