TTC for how long?

2»

Re: TTC for how long?

  • We have been actively trying to get pregnant since September 2013 with losses in December, April (but got pregnant in March) and June. So it took us 3 months, 3 months, 3 months, and 4 months to get pregnant each time.
    Married 6/2013, TTC 9/2013.

  • TTC#1 for 6 months on our own, went to RE from there (testicular cancer for DH so we didn't have to wait a year before being referred), took us 3 months to save money and did IVF, pregnant first round. This one we went right back to RE and did another IVF.

  • It took us one try the first, that ended in a loss, second took about six months l, and this one took over a year. Doctor said everyones different
  • I wonder if our sample here is skewed or if your pedi is just waaaay off. Maybe a little of both. A midwife had told me something similar though. She said the 2nd didn't take as long because "your body knows what to do" or something like that.

For us, DD took 9 cycles. And #2 happened on the first try. I am still totally shocked. Lucky and happy and shocked.

  • Took my hubby and I just about 3 years on the dot. Went through fertility testing and were saving up the money for IVF when we got a little surprise :)
  • We tried for 5 months. It didn't dawn on me that one of the pills my husband takes might have an effect, sure enough, I did some research and it has been known to cause problems with motility, we were pregnant the same month! He tapered off of it (Dr. Says it's not really necessary anyhow to take). In addition to him going off the med in Oct, I also finally decided to see my OB at the end of Oct. to discuss my concerns with TTC and she suggested buying ovulation kits and Preseed, which we did. We planed on using them after my next period because we were confident that there was no way we were to conceive in Oct since we only had sex twice due to three weeks combined of illness and our schedule-I
Know, that's awful! Was late for my period and got the PFP Sunday, and never had a chance to use those products. God sure is good!
  • I had my birthcontrol removed 7/25 it took 3 months
