He only lost 3oz. So roughly 4 or 5 days. I think our situation was pretty rare though. I was extremely lucky to have a really enthusiastic nurser coupled with the fact that he didn't lose much weight.
I'm pretty sure my first two were back to birth weight right at 2 weeks, but it was so long ago I don't remember any stats. My current LO was:
Birth Weight: 9 lbs 6oz
Lowest Point: 8 lbs 5oz on Day 5
Back to Birth Weight: 3 weeks
My LO lost 12% body weight at her lowest, so I was supplementing with pumped BM after each feeding until she got back to birth weight. She was jaundice, and a CS so I think that added to her large weight loss initially. As long as she was gaining after bottoming out on Day 5, my doctor was fine with it.
1st well visit (5 days old): 8 lb 3 oz. (diagnosed with infant dehydration; tongue-tie diagnosis and surgery done)
Follow-up (9 days old): 8 lb 12 oz
3-weeks old: 10 lbs 11 oz
So somewhere between 2 - 3 weeks.
TTC #1 since 2007. Dx: Unexplained infertility. 4 IUIs in 2008 = BFN. IVF #1 07/09. DD #1 born April 2010 (40w5d). TTC #2 since 2011. Dx: Endometriosis and hypothyroidism. 2 FETs in 2012, BFP 6/12 but m/c @ 7 weeks. IVF #2 06/13. DD #2 born March 2014 (40w1d).
We struggled but are now gaining on the lower end of "normal" for a BF baby.
Birth: 6 lb 14 oz Take Home: 6 lbs 9 oz 1 week: 6 lbs 8 oz 3 week and lowest: 6 lbs 4 oz 5 week weight check: 6 lbs 12 oz
So I think around week 5-6 is when we reached birth weight. I also had an epidural with apparently can lead to inflated birth weights (overheard at my weekly breastfeeding group) so once she was back over her take home weight I was relieved. Now she's about 16 weeks and just hit 9 lbs 14 oz last Thursday.
Re: How long did it take your baby to get back to birth weight?
From what Ive read 2-2.5 weeks is pretty normal.

birth weight: 5lbs 11oz
lowest point: 4lbs 15oz
1 month: 6lbs
Not entirely sure when we hit her birth weight, but it was somewhere around week 3/4.
Birth: 6 lb 14 oz
Take Home: 6 lbs 9 oz
1 week: 6 lbs 8 oz
3 week and lowest: 6 lbs 4 oz
5 week weight check: 6 lbs 12 oz

Took her 5 weeks to get back to birthweight with ebf and supplementing a few oz of BM after each nursing session.
