Monorchism

Our 15 month old son was born without a left testicle.  It was there at one point, but due to some sort of prenatal event, it lost blood supply and essentially atrophied, and was surgically removed in early September.  I am looking for others that are in the same or similar situation.  I have not found a whole lot of information available on the internet regarding this specific situation.  We are particularly concerned with the psychological impact it could have in the future, and how to talk to him about keeping this information private (since it's really no else's business) but also not being ashamed of himself or embarrassed at the same time.
