So my LO has learned a new trick rolling from back to tummy. We were so excited for her but then the fear of rolling while sleeping kicked in.
We have stopped swaddling her and are using a halo sack with her arms out. It is hard to get her to sleep since she was a swaddle baby and her hands are the coolest thing to her. I have ordered a zipadee zip today. Hoping it comes fast!
STM+ how did you deal with a rolling baby while you slept? It scares me to think she could roll over and could be face down. All three of us need sleep! I will say she is super strong with her head at 14 weeks.
Any advice is welcomed as well has what worked to make you not want to check on your LO every hour!
Re: Rolling from back to tummy advice
Have you ever seen her on her belly with her face planted? Or does she always turn her head to one side or the other? I'm assuming the latter. Also, it's natural human instinct to not suffocate oneself. Assuming she has no mental deficiencies, and she's strong (like you mentioned) I would trust that she's going to be just fine!
My in home nurse that visited told me at day 2 when my LO could move her head from one direction to the other while on her belly that she was already at extremely low risk of anything like sids. I would guess your 14 weeker is even better off!
Blanket since birth and it had been awesome. DS loves it and sleeps just as well in it(typically an 8 hour stretch).
Bad things can and do happen but I've decided we hear too much about those instances and not enough about the billions of babies that do just fine. As a species we seem to be surviving pretty well and I think we need to worry less and enjoy LO more
Thanks ladies!!
We had 1 night of 10 and a half sleeping in the crib with her arms out in the halo sack. The past 2 nights she has a hard time settling down with her arms out so she slept in her RNP.
I ordered the Zipadee Zip on Tuesday and received it today! yay I am hoping it works for my LO tonight.
It's so much better quality than halo. Never found DS cold or sweaty. This sleep sac is roomy and warm, easy to wash too, I just throw it in the washer. Can't stop recommending!!
