I was thinking about all the things we do when dealing with IF that the outside world totally doesn't get. I thought this could be a fun thread where we share our "odd" habits. I'll start:

You know you're an IF patient when you've replaced tampons in every purse and work bag with progesterone vaginal suppositories. Just in case you're not home when you need one.

~ When the thought of subQ needles doesn't bother you anymore.
~ when everyone knows the date of your LMP
~ when you can finally understand the acronyms on this board-- bonus for using in daily life!
~ when you give your first injection in a weird place and don't give it a 2nd thought (public bathroom, car)

@NariaDreaming‌ -- I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who's bought maternity pants already. 2 of my friends have given me quite the maternity stash too- I can't wait for the comfies everyday!

lol I found middle ground. no maternity pants, but my real clothes did not fit either. I lived in yoga pants and leggings for a good month lol

You act like Santa came when you see the box with your medicine and needles because you know your going to be starting another cycle
You bring the pee stick to various windows and lights just incase it's a squinter
You can use acronyms when talking with DH and he knows exactly what your saying

you know you are an IF patient when you don't even bother getting ready for monitoring. When you are looking at the clock constantly to see what time it is so you can take your injections.

I set about 3 alarms on my phone each day so I don't forget my meds.

When you can't even begin to guess at how many people have seen and commented on your cervix/ uterus/ other places people probably shouldn't comment on.

When laying on a bed half naked with 4 people in the room that aren't your SO is NBD.

When your first urge at a doctor's appointment is to take your pants off.

You rate your day by how many injections you are going to give yourself (A few days ago I called it an "easy" day since it was only a 2 injection day).

NariaDreaming, that's my favorite so far. I think mine actually got to a dozen after all the monitoring then the doctor, a fellow, and med student in addition to the nurses at ER.

When you're walking around your office in a billowy shirt with your pants not only unbuttoned but unzipped, and it's not because you're pregnant, gained weight, or even just ate a big meal. It's because you're so freakin' constipated from ER.

Literally Mon and Tues this week I had to find long, billowy shirts because I had to keep my pants unbuttoned AND unzipped because I was so damn bloated from too many follies (had to cancel the cycle bc I'm doing IUI, not IVF). I seriously considered going to the store to buy new pants. UGH!

If people come over you have to run around and hide bags if needles, what looks like an entire pharmacy of medication vials and a few biohazard containers. God forbid you forget to hide about the Gonal in the back of the fridge and the slew of pills on the counter. If they looked under the bathroom sink they will find the obsessive pregnancy test stash!

It's things like this that make me immensely happy that I wear scrubs to work. Sometimes its like wearing my pajamas all day. Heaven when you are already ridiculously uncomfortable and in pain from ER.

I was doing this just yesterday. when my mom came, and I had to take my first injection. I have my Meds on the bottom shelf of the fridge door,and would hate for her to ask me questions about my stash of boxes.

Having sales people see you naked in the changing room is no big deal, because lets be honest at least they don't have an ultrasound wand in their hands.

SEX? whats sex?

Buying maternity leggings in bulk because they are comfortable while stimming. Telling your non pregnant friends about them and they buy them too because its the best kept secret. EVER.

Friends call me with weird reproductive issues because I am basically an unlicensed gyno at this point.

Being Facebook friends with my IVF nurse.

CRMhoney so right about sex. Who would have thought that when trying to get pregnant you would have less sex. I have been way too uncomfortable since day 9 of stims and sick after ER to even think about it and now we are into our TWW so you know the rules about that.

Wait - no sex in the 2WW during IVF? My clinic said no sex for 1 week after ER. I was planning on getting some tomorrow!
