sewing/crafting a microwaveable lovie

I would like to bounce an idea off F14 collective minds.
For car rides we have a microwaveable lovie. (Link below). LO loves it and we now use it for naps and bed time too. I was thinking of making a similar lovie to keep her warm to put in her pockets or carrier when out and about. I feel like popcorn would be too big to be comfortable. Rice is another option, but again I feel like each grain would be too large. I have heard of people using millet, or other smaller grains. Any suggestions, ideas? I could just be over thinking this after falling down the Internet rabbit hole last night.
