Trying to Get Pregnant

So confused..

So I have been on this site for a while and i never really talked to anyone. I'm having a rough time deciding what to do.
I have been TTC for about two years now. I go on and off about actually trying, but i never prevent it from happening.
Although I have doubts, I'm wondering if this may be my time. I usually think i am pregnant, but this time is slightly different.
I am a little sensitive to foods that i wasn't before. Like my all time favorite chicken wings. Now i have to get boneless cause the smell and site of the
bone makes me queasy. And i took a sip of milk and almost couldn't keep it down. I have other small symptoms but I've experienced them before.
I am 15 days late today, and i don't know if I should just let it go and move on, or if I should take another test. Please help, I need someone
I don't know to tell me if I am crazy or not.

Re: So confused..

  • Have you taken a test? Take a test. And unless you are temping and know when you ovulated, you probably aren't "late".

How do you know you're late? Are you temping to confirm ovulation?

Symptoms mean nothing without a positive pregnancy test.

  • The first day of my last period was September 26. I took a test five days before i was supposed to start. (I had someone wanting me to take it) I knew that even if I was pregnant at that time that it would be negative. So I talked to a friend and she said to wait two weeks after my missed period. My cycles are 30 days long. I was supposed to get my period on the 26th of October, and nothing yet. I have a tracker, that's why i'm concerned cause I know everything except my basal body temperature.
  • Oh I ovulated on October 12, btw.

How do you  know when you ovulated without tracking your temperature? Did you get an ultrasound?
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
  • Is there a reason why you haven't taken another test by now?
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

How do you know this?  OPKs?

Why on earth wouldn't you just take a test? You don't need to wait two weeks after missing a period. No one here can tell you whether or not you're pregnant.

Trackers are crap. This is why temping would be helpful, cycle length can change at anytime. Since you don't know when you ovulated you don't know when to expect your period.

I suggest charting your BBT on FF so you KNOW where you are in your cycles.

  • Well that's what I did. I don't know where to get those thermometers. I'm not a little kid either, just so y'all know. I was just wondering maybe how other peoples experiences went. I didn't want to take a test because I didn't want to see another negative sign. Also, i wanted to be positive that Flo was late. 15 days is a long time. I just noticed a few things that were different and wanted to get someone's intake on it.
  • Sorry? It's a symptom to me, considering I drink it everyday. I have a friend who thinks i was drinking it too much.

You can get one at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, and Amazon to name a few. I believe they are in the family planing section at most places.

Also other peoples experiences won't make you any more or less pregnant.

  • All I know is that doesn't necessarily matter. I know people who got pregnant days before their periods. I could have ovulated any time, still could have gotten pregnant. It was just a question more about the symptoms maybe. Who knows if I am pregnant. I don't even believe I am pregnant. Too many negatives to believe I can even get pregnant. Tired of getting my hopes up.

Hi OP. Just like everyone else has said, charting will help you to be not so confused. Just to put this differently, if you WERE "15 days late" you would probably be ~ 25 days past ovulation which would give you a 99% accurate HPT. Even at 18 DPO, you would have a 99% accurate HPT.

I am sorry for your struggles, but if you're not getting a positive test then you're not pregnant. I assume you have taken one based on your use of "another test" in your OP.

Read the blog, learn how to temp and its probably time to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist.

What? Everyone who gets pregnant 'gets' that way around 8-14 days before their period would have come. Then comes implantation. There is a cool YouTube video about it somewhere.

  • Sorry to bother all of you, thanks for your comments.
  • I think there is an app you can download that tells you. You pee on the screen and the results are there as soon as the phone dries out....

In all seriousness please just take a test. I was TTC for a long while the last time I was TTC after dd. I didn't get pregnant and every bfn had me in tears. This time I am embracing temping. I suggest you do the same. Start relying on facts not suppositions and false hopes.

The newbie post is also a good and highly recommended read.

  • I know people who got pregnant days before their periods.
    No you don't.
What CLE said. You actually know people who weren't tracking BBT and ovulated earlier or later than they thought (probably earlier, since it does take 7-10 days for implantation and a little while longer for HCG to show up in your blood or urine).

Anyway, I'm going to echo PP who suggested that you meet with a reproductive endocrinologist. If you've been having unprotected sex regularly for two years with no BFP, it's time to make sure nothing is wrong.
No longer posting on The Bump due to the appalling misconduct of the staff and of its parent company, the XO Group. Four thousand  active, engaged members do not represent "a few bad apples" and we are not trolls.

    QFP.

I don't know if you are "crazy".
I also don't know if you are pregnant.
Hold your pee for three hours, purchase an HPT (pink dye) & take a pregnancy test.

Symptoms mean jack-diddly-squat. The only thing that makes a difference is a positive pee stick.

We don't know who you're talking/replying to if you don't use the quote button - try it, like I did here, so we know to whom your comment is directed.

I don't understand how seeing a negative test is any worse than sitting there wondering for 15 days if you might or might not be pregnant.  Suck it up and test if you really want to know, seems like wondering about your symptoms is driving you crazy and now asking about it is driving US crazy, you'd be better off just testing FFS!
