I'm sitting here reminiscing about this time last year. Tomorrow is my birthday. Last year I was holding my nephew on my birthday (he was 7 months old) and he wrapped his little chubby arms around my neck and gave me a big smile. My heart swelled up and I wished for a baby of my own so badly. Two weeks later I got my BFP. DH jokes LO was my birthday present. Looking at my little boy in my arms today, almost a year later, is bringing tears to my eyes and happiness to my heart.

What were you doing around this time last year?

I was thinking about this the other day. In about three weeks from now I got my BFP. I spent a lot of the time prior crying for no reason and waiting for my period to come.

This time last year I was looking forward to the holiday season with a LO who sort of gets it. We had been trying for several months for #2 with no luck but were enjoying DD becoming easier as she got older.

Yesterday was my birthday. Last year my grandpa had just passed away unexpectedly, and his funeral was held on my bday. It was a bittersweet week, hard to believe he has been gone for a year. I was also a bridesmaid in a wedding a year ago today, for my friend I've known since I was 7. This week last year was extremely difficult, it was really hard to do all the wedding stuff that was required of me in the days after my grandpas passing, but also wonderful to see my friend get married, overall just way too emotional of a week. I don't remember when I got my BFP, it was sometime in December, a few weeks after.

Around this time last year I was going out for my bachelorette party and finishing up wedding details. Having a baby was the last thing on my mind but hey life had other plans. Even though he was not planned, my little man is the best thing to happen!

This time last year me and bf were in our honeymoon phase still. We had been friends for a while but had only been dating a month (yeah I know, pretty short time). We were having so much fun and things were going great! It was just a few days after Christmas that we got our bfp. Boy was I scared!! Still attending college with a crappy low paying high working job! Ugh stressful time. Now I get to share my birthday in a few weeks with my little guy and we are financially doing great! And I'll have my associates next spring! Life is pretty good this time of year(:

DH and I were living with my parents between when we sold our old house and when construction on the new one was finished. I'm an end of the month-er so I didn't get my BFP until dec 21. We would have been just started trying this time last year!

One year ago yesterday was the start of my last period. I was hopeful that I'd get pregnant on that first cycle but was preparing myself in case I didn't. Hubby and I were partying a lot as a farewell to the life we had. I remember being bummed a few weeks later when I had what I thought were awful period cramps and we drank a ton of tequila that weekend. Suprise suprise a few days later I got a bfp! I was in shock but happy. One year later I now hold my son and can't believe how much has changed! I'm a totally different person.

I had moved to SW Virginia from Northern VA to be with (now) DH one year ago this week....still not legally divorced from my ex (our split was very mutual and we both had a new SO while separated). We had been together only about 6 months, so a baby certainly was not on our minds, but we got the BFP on Christmas Day, and now I see DS as the best Christmas gift ever!

I love that some of you guys made sure to live it up one last time before making your LOs! If we had planned it, I know we would've done that, too.

This time last year I was still recovering from a surgery I had a month before, in my last year of college, and preparing for a trip to Vegas for a good friend's wedding. We were not trying to get pregnant but looking back I was probably newly pregnant, got my BFP on Dec. 5th. We joke and say she's a Vegas baby but I think she was before that. But I'm so glad, because she is the best surprise ever.

I was still a Drill Sergeant working 80+ hours a week.. So I was working and sleeping. I had just finished my last pack of pills, but we thought it would be awhile before I got pregnant.

Yup, this was the weekend we conceived! A really nice weekend, too, going to visit my grandparents, and stopping by DH's college on homecoming - beautiful fall foliage, crisp sunshine. He's really happy we conceived during such a beautiful and memorable weekend, even though I'm pretty sure it was the Monday that did the trick

I got my BFP 12 days later.

I love this thread. We conceived the weekend before Thanksgiving. DH had been out of town all week and I was showing signs of ovulation and was afraid we would miss the window. Well, we didn't! I took a test a couple weeks later and was shocked to see the positive after so many negatives over the past 6 months. I will never forget that feeling of pure joy the morning we found out.

I'm a big advocate for temperature charting - I feel that's what helped us conceive!

I was shocked to see the positive result too! I was late before we conceived so I was testing every other day for weeks and it was negative after negative. The day before I finally got my BFP (6 weeks late) we decided to drink a glass of wine and discuss when to call the doctor and get checked out for reasons for my very late period other than pregnancy (last time I was that late I had a grand mal seizure when AF finally returned so we were nervous). I started having cramps and figured it was AF. When I still wasn't bleeding the next evening I snook out to Walmart and took a test because I didn't want to dissapoint DH again and I felt bad spending all that money on negative tests. It was super faint positive so we took a digital and it said PREGNANT!

All that just to say when we plan for #2 I will be charting. It sounds much more assuring than going by the average cycle!

Oh, and since doctors go by missed periods I had my first US way too early and was so scared until my due date was corrected.

I was just thinking about this too, OP! I was telling my friends last night that it's so crazy how a year can make such a difference in your life!

This time last year I was starting cycle #3 of Clomid. I was really discouraged that the first two didn't work and I had no hopes for #3. I told everyone that I knew it didn't work and I had two glasses of wine on Thanksgiving. On Dec. 8 we got our BFP and I was shocked!

I was pretty down after an early loss in September followed by a difficult recovery (the m/c was clear but HCG levels didn't decline, fears of ectopic pregnancy resolved by a d&c). I'm AMA and after close to a year of trying it felt like we may have lost our only chance at parenthood. Getting a BFP after taking the recommended month off was a delightful if scary surprise.

I'm pretty sure this is the same weekend we conceived last year. We had been trying for a year and a half at that point and we just agreed to see a fertility specialist if I still wasn't pregnant after the holidays. I remember we were having a party that night and I wanted to make sure we had sex before everyone came over. I got my BFP the day DH and I were leaving to go to the Caribbean for the week of Thanksgiving. It was such an awesome trip for just the two of us that became so special with our little secret. I'll never forget it!

We were gearing up for our first IVF cycle and we're pretty down that the IUI cycles hadn't worked. We were also discussing adoption and if we should start that process at the same time. Now our LO is here and we are so happy!

Like others, I was also preparing for our embryo transfer. It was the third attempt after a failed fresh cycle and failed frozen cycle. This was the first time we decided to put two back in. I was loads of nervous between figuring that if it didn't work on the third try, it likely never would, and if it did work, was I prepared to have twins? I kept the freezer vial from this cycle and pulled it out to remember it. I cant believe he was once a spec on the tip of a needle. I'm feeling so blessed that we finally have our take home baby!

I was super busy teaching high school, dance classes, and in the middle of co-directing/choreographing a middle school musical that was to go up in 2 weeks. This coming week I was really bad at taking the pill for a few days... we know how that ended up.

As a few others, I also got my BFP on Dec. 8th (my dad's birthday).

This time last year I was gearing up for the cycle we conceived LO in! I had been so disappointed the month before but really felt better and less neurotic about it. We had way better timing and in the beginning of December, got the BFP.

Around this time last year, my then-fiance and I went to a local sports bar to watch my favorite team play. Said team lost and lost embarrassingly. We left the bar, 6 hours after we arrived, and he insisted that we go to his friend's house to play beer pong. At this point, it was already getting late and we had to get up at 8:00 in the morning for a wedding-related appointment. Not to mention the fact that I have a strict policy against going out after a loss, because I always end up in a bad mood. So I told him that I was not in the mood to go to our friend's place and that I just wanted to go home and rest up for the following day. He flipped out about breaking plans with his friend and I flipped out back at him, telling him that it's okay if we don't go out every single Saturday, since we were adults pushing 30 years of age. The fight continued back at our house, ultimately resulting in me telling him that the only way he was going to grow up was if we had a baby and, in one of the craziest moves of my life, I proceeded to pop my birth control pills out one-by-one into a glass of water, before retreating to the bedroom to go to sleep. The next morning, I woke up to find the glass of water completely empty. Turns out, hubby stayed up late watching TV in an act of defiance over our fight and ended up drinking the glass of water at like 4 am when he got thirsty, completely forgetting what was dissolved within it. He spent the entire morning vomiting. We laughed about how dumb our fight was and I resolved to start up a new pack of pills once my period came.

It never did.

Which concludes the tale of how LO came to be. So happy that hubs loves to tell the story, because it doesn't make me sound crazy at all.

Nov 8th was our wedding day and that makes it the first official day we started TTC!! I had been charting and pretty sure we conceived the following week on our honeymoon in Lake Tahoe

A year ago we were house hunting for a bigger house. We had just started ttc #2 so we wanted more space and a house in a neighborhood that had a lot of young families so our kids would have some playmates. I got ku on our second cycle over Thanksgiving weekend. I got my BFP on Friday the 13th before heading out to a Christmas party. I couldn't be happier that our family is now complete and we have our forever home.
