This brought to you by three people on FB calling it tubby. It bothers me. Why not just say bath? Do you call dinner "eatie" or "chairy"? You call going in the car "drivey"? It just bothers me.

Well i will say that I call hugs and kisses "huggy" and "kissy" to DS. But that's not weird, only tubby is...

I'm not sure you could handle the word shenanigans that go on in this house
You might be right.
I've got no problem with nonsense words. I just don't understand not calling something what it is.
Also if I were posting to social media I would use my big people words. Our family's weird language is just for us.
There's probably some truth in this. I'm sure we say things that other families would consider weird. But when I'm on TB or FB or whatever -- I use my big girl words so the whole world knows what I'm talking about. And also so they don't think I'm a moron.
You guise don't think I'm a moron, right? (Possible new poll?)

This for sure.
This thread made me realize how much dumb sh*t we say at home.
Tubby is the least of our problems. I say huggins and kissens. I also call LO boop-boop (like he turns his head if I say "hey boop boop") and my Big is boopy. DH often asks LO if he made poopens in his panties. )
And (probably the most annoying) I add extra syllables to words like: "OH Nosey-O".
I don't know why or when all of this started. All I know is I cannot stop. 8-}
My cousins nickname was Tubby, so I can't call bath time tubby...just bath time! The only baby words we use, so far are binky and mine. A mine is a security blanket, when Finding Nemo came out my nieces we're learning to talk and when the birds yell 'mine, mine' my dad grabbed their blankets and yelled mine, a lot. So they thought that's what it was called, and she has 4 kids, it stuck. Now M has a mine.
We call it tubby. I'm also Boston-born, so maybe it is regional?
You take a tubby in the tub. Nothing crazy about that.
We grew up calling it a tub-bath. Taking a bath meant going to the steam (dry heat like a sauna but it's bathed in) so a tub-bath was washing in the tub!

A friend of mine who lives in Boston (and is from Oregon originally) uses that word for a bath, and that's the only place I've ever heard it.
