I am lying in the recovery room waiting out the rest period. I have to pee so desperately bad! We ended up transferring 3, as one of the first 2 thawed really did not look good. Figured, why not? The procedure was awful! My cervix was waaaaay in the back & hard to access. They couldn't get a good image on the u/s... Dr warned me I'd bleed because my cervix is messed up from the meds & it got tore up by the speculum! And everything down there has been more sensitive since the D&C, anyway. DH was great, though. It is done now. I am PUPO!!!!!!!

Are you taking time off to rest or is it straight back to normal activity?

@Nowthatsalady All of the mature eggs fertilized which is fantastic. My old RE had a cutoff of 5 embryos for 5DTs. Less than 5 on day three meant a 3DT, 5 or more good quality embryos meant getting a 5dt. Fingers crossed that you get an awesome result regardless of when you transfer. Good luck!

Had my second monitoring appt this morning after 7 days of stims. 13 follicles 10-13 mm. The nurse was very happy that they all seem to be growing at an even pace and there is no lead follicle. E2 getting up there at 872. They are dropping my dose of Follistim back down to 225 from 300 (it was increased on Sunday). Next monitoring appointment is on Friday.

@NariaDreaming‌ I just found out I'm in the 3DT group. So tomorrow, I will be PUPO! I'm excited, but no so excited that I have to work overnight tonight and then stay up all day tomorrow, which will make me miss yet another shift tomorrow night.

@Discouraged31 The Lupron injections were a breeze for me, didn't even feel them, no burning at all, unless I did it too soon after the alcohol wipe and it wasn't dry yet. If I could do those the whole time I'd be thrilled. The Bravelle and Menopur on the other hand, not so easy breezy. They aren't horrible, but they burn and the needle is a little bigger.

Well, I have been on stims for 8 days, will be on them for at least 3 more days. RE says I'm doing good but I don't think I'm responding that well. Still no idea when ER will be but I'm thinking Sunday or Monday.

@Spring78 Congrats on being PUPO! Your experience sounds scary (and unusual)... I hope no one else experiences a transfer like that! I'm happy for you that it's now in the past!

Yeah. It was a lot worse than either if my other transfers. Just lucky this time, I guess. :-)

Well, I got 8 eggs, 5 were mature, and 5 fertilized (ICSI). I just woke up from a long nap at home! Apparently, my insurance would cover PGS and it's still an option. I don't know what to do. My husband and I keep deciding on no and it keeps cropping up. Argh. Thoughts?

Hi, I'm new to this board but I was hoping to find some ladies that are in there ER stage waiting to hear how their embryos are doing and how many of them are going to make it to day 5 blast/Transfer, it's so nerve racking waiting to find our the results. My current stats are - 32 egg retrieved, 30 mature/ icsi was done, day 1- 25 fertilized, now I have to wait until Thursday day 3 for our next update to see how they are progressing. Praying for good quality embryos this time. I have a current day 5 ET scheduled for this Saturday! Hoping to hear from others in this horrible waiting period.

Also this is my 5th IVF cycle:

IVF #1 BFN no remaining eggs for FET

IVF #2 no eggs to transfer

Went to a new Clinic

IVF #3 BFN no reamining eggs no remaining eggs for FET

IVF #4 BFN poor lining (we were able to freeze 4 eggs)

FET #1 BFN poor lining still

FET #2 BFP unmedicated cycle / beautiful lining and last 2 embies BFP finally - 2010

IVF #5 32 egg retrieved, 30 mature/ icsi was done, day 1- 25 fertilized, waiting for day 3 update which will be Thursday, 11/6

@ssoennin Honestly if my insurance covered it, I would do it in a heart beat. What are the pros and cons for you now that finances might not be a factor?

Fert. report is in: 12 retrieved, 12 mature, and 10 fertilized normally. We are now a flex 3/5 day transfer and will find out Friday which one.

We're not sure if it's covered as a test or as part of our $10000 lifetime max which includes meds. If it's a test, it is 100% covered and if not, it is pretty much out of pocket. I just texted my friend (co-worker who shared an office with me during postdoc) and she had five embryos, 3 made it to day five and she did PGS with one good embryo at the end. This is so scary... So we decided to do it because they gave us until 4 PM to decide. No idea if we did the right thing. I sorta feel like a failure because I only have five and I'm really scared because it might be that we have nothing at the end.

Great report Nutmeg8484 the waiting is the worst, hang in there.

ssoennin - When will you have the results of the PGS? We thought about doing that but our clinic charges an additional $6,000 for that and my insurance doesn't cover any of the IVF or meds so everything is out of pocket. I'll send good thoughts your way on the results of your PGS.

@cparker1 I'm not sure when we would get the results... But I do know my clinic only does frozen transfers after PGS. Wow! Your clinic charges a lot! Ours is charging $2750. That sucks that yours is out of pocket, too. This will be our one shot that is sort of covered by insurance but hearing your story makes me grateful to have any coverage for even one shot.

@cparker1 - welcome!!! Great fertility report!! How is your lining looking? I noticed you had issues with it in the past. My uterus is usually uncooperative also.

Saoennin personally I think all insurance companies should cover infertility and the medications, it's a medical condition. It is good to hear that some are covering it unfortunately mine isn't one. I wish you the best of luck with your cycle!

Mariana81 thank you! Cwoodward777 thank you too! My lining is actually cooperating this cycle thank God, they said it looks great it's a little above 8 1/2 with a trilamator pattern I believe they call it- three layer which my clinic recommends (that's a good lining for me) so I'm feeling good this cycle so far but tomorrow will be a big day finding out how the embryos are progressing. They did a hysterscopy scraping a few months prior to the start of my cycle which I believe helped create a better lining for me, the last time they did one I also had a better lining. Have they tried that on you, if not maybe you can mention it to see what your Dr thinks seeing you also are having poor response with your lining. I was reading your TTC story and I see they did a hysterscopy but it was back in 2012. So sorry about your IVF cycle #1 and FET #1, when are you scheduled for your FET #2 transfer, do you have a date in Nov set up yet?

Sorry I've been MIA this week. I'm having a rough IF week, struggling with other people's pregnancy announcements, and waiting for my FET schedule. I started Lupron last week, I take my last BCP in the morning, then I go in for my baseline appointment Monday. I'm hoping everything looks good so we can get started.

@AuroraP725‌ so sorry you're having a rough week! I had a similar week prior to starting stims before IVF #1. I was so bummed (especially bc my BFF was one of them). Once I started stims, my mood picked back up. I noticed that when I was waiting to start a cycle, I would feel down- but that always changed when the ball gets rolling!! I hope you're back to yourself ASAP!

@cparker1 - Yes I am scheduled for November 19! Hopefully this will be it! Thanks for your suggestion. I actually asked for an additional U/S this round the day before the FET to make sure my lining is good enough. No wasting time or my frosties! Last month they only did one U/S a week before the FET. My lining was a 6, do they said it was good enough they did not need to do another ultrasound. My RE believes a lining above 5 is good enough for the ET. Yet studies have shown it needs to be above 7. I just do not know what to think!

@cwoodward777‌ I've had a lining of 6 a few times one time they cancelled my transfer because of it another time it was 6.5 and then 7 so we transferred 2 embies each time and BFN I know it was because of my lining, I had perfect looking embryos on those cycles but my lining sucked I wish now we didn't do the transfer I feel like we wasted 4 beautiful embryos on it. On my current cycle they actually did an additional U/S similar to your situation because I was so worried about if and thankfully I have a good lining this time around. I hope your lining will be beautiful this cycle too.

Hey Tiny Turkeys! Had a monitoring appt yest (day 6 of stims). Follicles look good, majority of them were 10-12 mm. Just started Ganirelix last night, next appt is Sat with an ER estimated for Wed. Just hoping they all keep growing!

Had my first emotional breakdown at work this week. Everyone saw me crying which is so not me but what can you do, hormones can make us do crazy things! Have the weekend off so looking forward to relaxing!

Continued luck to all this cycle!
