So here's the fabric I picked out! Unfortunately making it myself is not saving any money, but it's fabric I picked out and am making it how I want it. The pink fabric is the bumper, the green is the skirt, and the yellow is the sheet.
I'm making my own too! You're right, it's not a huge money saver, depending on what fabric is used, but I like the idea of making this myself. I don't knit- so this crib bedding is my version of knitting booties.
So jealous. I can hardly wait to get a crib so that I can make the skirt and sheets. I think I'm actually going to go out this weekend and look at fabric.
You definitely need to share photos of the final product!

Cute! How difficult would you say making it is? Something a beginner could do?
The pattern I got is just for your basic bumper, sheet, and skirt (it's flat, not the fluffy kind) so I'm hoping that makes it easier. I'll pip when I finish making it and let you know if it was easy or not.
I've been on the prowl for a while now for the perfect gender-neutral fabric -- still haven't found it. Do you know who the designer is of this stuff? I'm trying to look at lots of stuff before I decide!!!
i love it! my Mom & I made DDs bedding & it ended up being WAY more money than buyng a bedding set (of course, we also made a queen quilt) but it was a fun project!
i want to make my skirt and bumper too. what pattern are you using? also how much fabric did you buy? i found the fabric i like on etsy.
i cant wait to see whe you are done
The pattern I got is by Butterick, and it's number B4947. To make the bumper, skirt, and 2 sheets, I ended up buying 15 1/2 yards. I'm hoping to have extra left over to make other things with.

(By the way, your fabric is gorgeous.)
