@citybee do we have all the same fb friends?? Haha!
I thought of another. I hate when someone shares a satirical news article with a caption that shows that they believe what the article is saying. I mean, really ridiculous things. One time a friend shared an article about how horse meat and human meat were found in McDonalds factories. And she said, "this is why I never eat at McDonalds!" Um... Human meat??? Are you that stupid? It takes 2 seconds to google the name of this "news" site. I really love commenting that the news is fake. I just don't get how some people can believe this stuff.
Someone mentioned this- but I hate the overly sappy couples on facebook! I have a friend who is in a long distance relationship. He posts a drawing he does of them every. single. day.
I only registered for baby clothes, A) so I could remember what I saw/liked, and for the registry benefits. Even if I'm the one buying it, I was told by the cashier to go put it on my registry and then come back and purchase it because you get benefits by doing it that way. So I'll register for loads of stuff just for the discounts. I definitely don't expect anyone to buy it for me!
-----pretty sure this will be a quote fail--------
I do add stuff whenever I buy it (even a gift for someone else) to add to my 10%
cwbandthenewbie I think most pregnancy announcments are pretty AWish too. What I did for my first pregnancy is post a nice obvious bump photo. I updated it to my profile pic and let that serve as the announment. I was about 32 weeks though so my bump was out there. I will do somethign similiar this time but I don't yet have a very obvious bump.
I don't mind the pregnancy announcements, what I do side eye though is when people use facebook as a pregnancy diary and document every last symptom or craving. "Baby wants burritos today!" And that annoying stuff.
YES! I HATE when people update with nothing but pregnancy news. I posted exactly one pregnancy-related thing and that was my announcement. Otherwise I have plenty going on in my life to discuss and share. If I want to talk about my pregnancy (which of course I do) I come here because you guys actually 1) care and 2) understand. But my friends from high school who don't have (or want) kids? Or my great aunts and uncles? My colleagues, past and present? No, they don't give a shit so I won't subject them to this.
My side-eyes for the week (if not the rest of my life because I still can't believe someone would do this)
1) a friend of a friend faked a pregnancy and then a miscarriage on Facebook for the attention. When people came at her asking for proof of the pregnancy or miscarriage, she would only curse and tell people how rude/inconsiderate they were being. Some of the people asking for proof were actually family members of hers. My thing is, your supposed to be between 16-20 weeks. A sonogram or paperwork from your ob/gyn is more than enough "proof" for anyone asking. She said she had none of that. She also said she had to have a D&C. There would be paperwork for that as well. I supposed I should add that the girl is a pathological liar and had just broken up with her boyfriend before she was mysteriously pregnant and because of that he decided to get back with her. (She is also one of those that are on again, off again and always posting about how much she loves/hates her SO.)
2) A friend of mine had a baby boy this past year. Her pregnancy announcement was a picture of 6 (no, seriously, 6) different pregnancy tests. She is also one that is always posting her child in a diaper or naked, with food all over himself. She's a SAHM and complains all the time about not having a life outside of her parental duties.
Also, I didn't actually make an announcement on Facebook. I forgot to. People found out because I tagged a couple of family members in the gender reveal that we had and then got upset because I hadn't told them before that time. Obviously I wasn't concerned about you knowing or I would have made a point to tell you. No need to get hostile with me over it.

Who in the fuck would have the balls to ask for proof of a miscarriage? I would be hostile too! Being a "pathological liar" is irrelevant.
