I know these are usually Wednesday, but I had a WTF moment today so I thought I'd start one up!
DS and I were dropping off some bags of clothes at the thrift store and I could only carry a few at a time while also holding him. So when I brought in the first bags, I asked the people at the desk (2 old ladies) if anyone could help with the rest in my car. They said the guy just left, but "let me hold the baby for you."
Um.....no. I'm not leaving my baby with some lady I've never met before while I go out of the building to my car.
Because I'm awkward in social situations, I let her hold him for a second (I wouldn't have actually left the room) but, like a good baby, he started crying. Good job, DS, good job. Looking back, I regret even letting her hold him for a second. I was just caught off guard.

Re: WTF Thursday
I've had some lady offer to hold my baby in the grocery store. I said no but she was really persistent, I usually am not good saying no in the moment so I was proud of myself. I've also worked retail for years and always if ever touched a baby it was somewhere they wouldn't be putting in their mouth, I.e. top of head, back of arm... looking back even though I thought I was being considerate I should've never touched anyone's kids.
@somewierd_person Now that I have a kid, I wish I could redo all of my past interactions with moms.
