DS will NOT drink my breast milk from a bottle. You put it in his mouth and the look on his face is one of, "what the fuck is this shit". Then he'll cry bloody murder. Then I'll cry cause that means I'll eventually have to pour 6 oz of my milk down the drain. So far we have tried Born Free and Avent both from their breastfeeding lines. Im thinking of trying the Pyrex Drop In next. My DD was so easy and took right away to the first brand we used. I was not ready for this little guy to be so picky.

Help me ladies! Did you have to try different brands before your LO clicked with one? Which one was it? Im looking to narrow down the options out there.

My kid won't drink a bottle so I've given up. We'll try a sippy soon. So you're not wasting - can you just do one ounce in the bottle til he gets the hang of it?

We tried Tommie Tippee and he couldn't figure out how to get the milk out so I had to try others. Avent finally worked for us, though I bought one of each kind just in case (so now I have a ton of the others). I found that feeding him on one side and then offering the bottle helped to calm him enough to try it out. Took FOREVER for him to eat though until recently.

Have you tried paced cup-feeding? When LO was itty-bitty we had to supplement with pumped BM and the LC had us cup-feed (using a medicine cup) so as to not get "confused". Actually, a lot of the LCs I've talked to are big fans of that method over bottles.

That is a great suggestion! The next time I pump I'll freeze it in an ice cube tray.

I second what Nunn says. Try small amounts first. DD didn't like bottles at first. She hates pacifiers, so I want surprised when she refused a bottle. I heard Dr Brown's bottles are good. We use Tommee Tippee.

For DD, temperature was important. The nipple had to be quite warm. Also, DH gave her the bottle. If I was around, she wasn't having it. Finally, we just kept trying. The baby steps of getting her to keep it in her mouth were slow, but knowing we could get a few sucks was progress. HTH

I tried: Avent, Tommee Tippee, and Medela. DS hated them all. He would gag, sputter, cry, and refuse to drink. I pulled out my old Dr. Browns (which I HATE because they have 2940872343 parts)... and go figure. Success. So that's what we use now.

I second trying just an ounce at a time. It would break my heart to dump 6 oz. of BM down the drain!

I use Tommee Tippy with the slow flow, newborn nipple and Dr. Brown's. The Dr B's have a faster flow. T.T. also have the anti colic ones that are awesome too.

My LO will only take the Medela bottle. I was out of town and my mom had such a hard time getting her to take the bottle but eventually she got hungry enough and she took it. But that is the only bottle she will use.

We use Medela and it's seems fine. I second what @presslove said though - I haven't tried recently but DD wasn't taking bottles from me when I did try. She's like what the eff I can smell you I'm not taking this thing!!

Medela also has the calma (I think that is what it's called) which is supposed to feel more like a real nipple I think

Im never the one trying to bottle feed DS. It's been his aunt a couple times but mostly his dad. My poor DH always looks so sad. He was looking forward to his one on one feeding time.

We've been using Nuk bottles (our son took them well) but day care just informed me that LO doesn't seem too thrilled with her Nuk bottles any longer. They're going to try making her bottles a little warmer to see if that helps. I went ahead and bought a 2 pack of MAM bottles to see if she likes them.

If you want to try Nuk @allrightmeow, they sell 2 packs of disposable nipples that screw onto breast milk storage bottles.

We tried multiple bottles also when trying to get her to take one. She absolutely refuses a soother also. Eventually I found it was more the temperature she didn't like (she likes it quite warm). Try playing around with the temperature also before spending a small fortune on bottles.

Yes I totally agree with Nuk as my LO went on bottle strike for about a week and afterwards this was the only kind he would take. Now he will take anything which is a relief bc we went through so many different kinds of bottles trying to satisfy him.

We use platex air vent with the natural latch nipple but the medium flow. She went on strike a few weeks into drinking breast milk from a bottle. I have a healthy supply and quick flow so she prefers the medium and won't eat with the slow flow. We've had no issues with bottle over breast preference. Good luck. I remember how frustrating it was. Also platex sells a variety pack I nipples.

I have also used a syringe when LO was rejecting feeding (boob/bottle/etc) to calm him down to latch, but since they don't have to work at it babies can tend to get super lazy. I'd only suggest that if you had no other option.

This. My lo will take a bottle -- we use dr Browns-- from his dad, but it's a battle. He was looking forward to feeding the baby, but it's torture for him every time. I feel bad.

Haha, come to think of it, my little guy battles me breastfeeding, too, and that's not the lovely bonding experience I was looking forward to, either. Maybe this baby just hates eating!

Anyway, Dr Browns are the only ones that have worked for us, with a #2 nipple.

When LO was born and I had to supplement I was using the Lansinoh bottles and she had not problem taking them. I stopped supplementing at six weeks and when I tried to give her a bottle again at around 3.5 months she just wouldn't take it, I went and bought Tommee Tippee and she doesn't take them either. She just plays with the nipple, pushing it with her tongue from side to side and chewing on it. When she had some constipation issues I had to spoon feed her the prune juice.

DS hasn't been picky about the type of bottle, but he will still only use the slow flow nipples. We use mostly Avent and I tried moving him up to a size 2 with a little faster flow because I thought he was ready, but he refused to drink out of those. Even though he is almost 5 months he will still only drink out of the size 1, slow flow nipples. You probably already tried this, but if not, maybe try using the slowest flow nipple? I think I read something somewhere once about breastfed babies liking the slower flow nipples because they are most like eating from the breast?

Tommee Tippee with the anti colic things and the slow flow nipples for us. He HATED the medela ones that attached to my pump, and the avent haven't really worked either. I know at babies r us right now if you spend like 15 bucks and bring int he coupon, you can get a free Dr. Browns bottle. I'm sure there's stuff you could use at bru and then you can try the bottle for free.

We are experiencing this rough patch with my daughter as well. My son took bottles with no problem at all. As long as he got milk he was fine

but our baby girl wants nothing to do with them.
I have bought off brand (dollar general) and NUK brands. I think the nipple was too small, so I bought some MAMs (like her pacifier). I think temperature has a lot to do with it to. What is the best way that you have found to get your frozen BM at the right temp. How do you warm up the nipples of the bottle too? I know microwave is a no no.....

Thanks for the help!! I didn't want to spend a fortune in bottles trying to fine which one worked best.
