Working through pregnancy

Re: Working through pregnancy

  • With DS, I worked until about four days before my due date (and he was born a day after that)
This time, I am not making any hard and fast decisions because twins can come early. I guess I will just see what the doctors say.

  • I took 1 day off before my induction last time to wrap up loose ends, and will probably do the same thing time.
    Due with #5 April 22, 2015. It's a girl!!!!!

Yes it was planned, yes we know what causes that, no we are not on public assistance, and yes we will be getting cable after this. ;)

  • Teacher working till the bitter end. I have high school seniors who will be kind and understanding if I have an off day. Praying baby comes on time - spring break starts one day before my due date, which means my teacher husband can be home for the first week.
  • I plan on working full time until I pop..... that's my plan anyways but I've recently changed roles to Estimator instead of just CSR, so Im on my feet, bending and moving a lot more now as opposed to sitting at a desk all day.... so if I can handle this position till I pop then that's what Ill do :) and I cant' afford to miss more work than necessary.

  • Im a police officer and plan on working until my due date. Although I have been pulled off the road now since I am 19 weeks tomorrow and its too much to risk being out there. Now I assist the detectives in my agency with their investigations until after my FMLA then back to the streets! I think as long as you're having a healthy pregnancy you should have no problem working until the end!

    Good luck!!
  • I'm a SAHM to three kids. I'll be still doing that till I burst.
  • I'm planning to work til the end. My office is closer to the hospital than my home too! I have a desk job and can work from home when I need to.

I also don't think they're going to hire a temporary replacement so I will be doing a big push to get things done for the quarter early. Maybe even working on small projects during my leave...

  • I also work at a school. I'm an administrator and plan on working til the very end.
However, there have been some complications this pregnancy which makes me think bed rest might be in my future. I truly hope that doesn't happen. I'm trying to take it easy in the meantime.
  • I work for the government (desk job) and plan to work until the end. I have to use my annual and sick leave if I want to be paid while I'm out, so I'm trying to save as much as I can.

My commute is 55 miles though, and I take the commuter rail, so I'm hoping to ask for FT situational telework as j get to the final weeks so I don't go into labor in DC and have to figure out a way back home. I signed up for our commuter assistance which will pay for a taxi to your home in an emergency, but it's still often a hour plus drive with traffic.

  • Not unrealistic. With my first I worked on my due date and plan to do the same with this one.
  • I plan on working until 4 weeks before my due date, when I'm eligible for disability. I'm a home visiting RN.

  • I plan on working until the end bc of an awful maternity plan, if possible. I commute over and hour each way so am hoping my boss will let me work from home full time starting the week before my due date--I currently wfh 2 days per week now. I really don't want to use PTO days prior to having the baby!

I'm a teacher and I'm working until I burst. In my state, the leave is too shitty to do otherwise, basically.
I am a guidance counselor and am planning on the same. The pay sucks and you either use sick days or your maternity leave.  So unless I get put on bed rest (god forbid) I am working until I pop.  I did the same with my dd. It is not easy or fun but worth the extra time at home one the lo is here

  • I have a desk job.  With DS I had a scheduled c-section at 38w2d (he was Frank breech), and I worked up until the afternoon beforehand when I had to go to the hospital and pre-register.  This time around with twins, I plan on working as long as I can, provided dr doesn't put me out on rest.  That said, even if he does that, I can work remote from home.

  • I work in accounting, basically a desk job. I will work until I pop or there abouts. Hopefully, my dr will agree..

  • I stopped working now at 16 weeks. My cervix is thinner than normal and the baby is very low, so to prevent another premie, I am at home on bed rest. Yikes!!
