My E is no where near full potty training.  I think they just put her on the potty every 45-60 minutes.  I'll start throwing confetti when she actually does this on her own.

And she also went through a phase of not wanting to use the potty to the point of tantrums.

    Hang in there.

  • We had a potty tantrum this morning. She wouldn't go at the house but agreed to go once we got to grandma's house. Well, of course, that didn't fly when we actually got there. So we had a mini meltdown in the bathroom. She did eventually go, but was not happy about it.

Toddlers need a little bladder gauge that lets parents know when they are reaching a full bladder. So many less tantrums would occur. Where's the app for that??

  • @rugbymama - maybe that avacado ultrasound would work for that? Before leaving the house each time they must be scanned.
    I'd buy it.

FTFY.  From personal experience.  FYI deer LOVE tulips.
German Shepherds also love tulips apparently.
  • I'm thinking of selling part of my diaper stash if my daughter keeps up with the potty training.

I don't even want to count all the diapers I have.

Don't worry MK if I think about getting rid of my Free Spirit I'll ask you first.  But I don't think I'll be doing that for a few years.

  • Hugs nana!! You can totally do it. It will suck right now, but be so amazing in the long run! I just finished my BA in Psych while pregnant and having a newborn, and I made it out alive :)

  • I love love love my dogs to pieces, but they cause so much stress between SO and I. Almost to the point where I almost wish we got another cat instead. Would of been less tension between us.

I totally get that.  My dog is a sweet little angel, but MH's dog?  Insane.  And I blame MH every time his dog acts up.  Which is totally unfair.
I hope it gets better soon.

This is why I always say no to a dog.  My husband wants to get one.  I love the idea, but we aren't home enough.

  • The thought of selling my stash eventually makes me so anxious.  I already told DH I'll probably keep the prefolds and flats.  He looked at me like I was crazy.

Now thinking about it, I want to keep the TTs too....
I'm probably going to have a panic attack when I start seriously thinking about doing it.  Most likely I'll start down sizing slowly.

Honestly, I don't know how many diapers I have.  And I'm only talking about pockets.

Right now I have 19 pockets just for C.  Plus 12 medium prefolds and 12 flats. 4 fitteds, 5 covers, 4 overnight covers, and 3 covers that are older and just for emergencies.

This does not even dive into my daughter's diapers.  Which we might not need anymore.

I sometimes wonder if it's unfair to keep Ein. Elsa is small enough and attached enough that with a tiny bit more training she'll be fine. However, Ein needs so much work that my SO doesnt give her. With me doing nursing school my time will become extremely limited. I love her so much, but I jusy don't know. I feel like such a shitty dog mom to her right now.

I'm a couple episodes behind...but I loooooove that show. It's a little scary to watch with M around, but I like to watch an entire season without getting up. Lol And day #2 of the sexathon was successful! (Sexathon got autocorrected to sedation. Lmfao)

Confession: I've been specifically avoiding sex because I'm irrationally scared it will induce labor and I'm so not ready.

So you aren't in the current season yet? Where are you? How much can I say? And NO to watching with M around! This show has given me nightmares.

Also to clarify - this is a completely unprotected sexathon? Like bring on #2?

Same with C. At 32 weeks I had a lot of pressure. Then two weeks later he decided it was comfy and he didn't want to come out.

And everyone who said the second time in labor will be quicker can F off. 26 hours with both of them. The only bonus was C was less pushing.

  • @mamalamb10 The same reason I walked into both a cookie bakery, and a specialty doughnut shop yesterday.  I can have neither of those things, but it hurt so good just to smell them.

Fun fact, it took me 7 tries to type cookie bakery.  I kept typing bookie.

  • We got back from walking the dog at 8:30pm, and I thought I would just put DS in PJs and put him to bed. No, he wanted yogurt. It is now 2 hours later and he has out away nearly 2 cups of
yogurt, several slices of chorizo, cheese, popadoms, and is now tucking into baked beans. Why won't he stop?!!!

I had a food related question for M's pedi, but she wasn't in, so another doctor called me back. M's pedi is pretty crunchy (she bed shared her kids and did blw), but this woman obviously wasn't. She kept trying to tell me that M was way too young for finger foods and needed to be eating Stage 1 foods. That wasn't the point of the phone call, so I just said OK and moved on, but OMG she wouldn't let up. For like 5 minutes. Geezum, I'm loving on M's doc just a little more now.
Did she tell you that you were going to kill your baby? My old pedi did that. Drove me batty.

Pretty much. She told me that M would choke if I fed her something like broccoli. Too bad it's M's favorite food :-/ She also kept talking about snapping things into really small pieces (I had kind of tuned her out at that point and M was grabbing for the phone). Um, yeah, small hard things, sound like a good plan...

  • My bet would be that that pedi was younger. I've found that older doctors are way more tolerant because they have already raised kids and know the reality of what a kid can handle. While younger docs know the books and what they learned in school. No real long term parenting experience.

Honestly, I've found the opposite. All the doctors that I've had experience with that dislike the more natural parenting methods have all been older pediatricians. They have been doing it for so long that they don't keep up with current trends and reccomendations and tend to scoff at them. However, on the other perspective. My current pediatrician is a new mother and on the young side. She didn't even blink an eye when we talked about BLW, ERF, and she tries to really get mothers to BF till 2.

  • Things

Wow, mom fail right there. My mom and mil both asked if I've given her tastes of things yet.

MH let N lick apple juice off his fingers when he was 2 days old! It didn't hurt him, but if I had known then what I know now about how sensitive baby guts are, I would have totally freaked out.

It's not even my chocolate. My neighbor at the bakery is a chocolatier and she just came out with a whole new line of chocolate bars that I can eat. So, of course I must try them all. Salted caramel is delicious. Chai espresso. Heady Topper & Salted Pretzel. Maple Gingersnap (with my gingersnaps). And so many more.
That's it, I need to move to your neighborhood.

Hey - do you make any additional kind of truffles that aren't listed yet?  I don't love fruit with my chocolate - but I love things like more chocolate, peanut butter, coffee, etc.  I don't mean to sound picky, but I'm telling you if you had peanut butter or mocha ones up there I would buy them ALL.

End of Stringy's demand for better chocolate than the leftover snickers in my house I keep eating.

Samesies, except that I can't have snickers b/c Alex isn't happy when I eat dairy. And dark chocolate, coffee, and PB are my BFFL.

  • DH asked me if I want to go to a Ron White show when he comes to town in a few months. He's not my favorite comedian, and the tickets are kinda pricey. On the other hand, we've only had 2 date nights in all of 2014, so it would be nice to have a night out. I'm torn.

PS I would LOVE to try a dark chocolate peanut butter truffle, @mapleme. I miss dark chocolate Reese's cups way down in my soul.
