For all you ladies out there hoping you don't have to wait until 20 weeks to find out your baby's gender...my husband and I had a private scan today and found out we are having a little boy. I am almost 14 weeks and it was incredibly obvious and was very exciting. We did both the normal ultrasound and 3d, but they really took their time for us to see the baby way more clearly than just a normal ultrasound at the doctor. I highly recommend it!

Lol I don't usually write rude comments. But no, their is correct. They're means they are. You are wrong. But I think it's funny that you tried to correct her. Lol

Common does not mean acceptable. Just because someone isn't malicious with their actions or words doesn't mean it can't hurt someone.
It's a hot button issue because those LGBTQ are dealing with ignorance about gender stereotypes on the regular. There are people being hurt by ignorance on the regular. Some are being attacked & in parts of the world, murdered.
What does that have to do with pregnancy & fetuses? Well, sex is between the legs & gender is between the ears.
The more ignorance is allowed to be spread unchecked then more people will continue to not watch what they say. Sure it's all fun & games until you offend someone.
Believe it or not, I (and I'd guess others, but I can only speak for myself) don't really look for opportunities to snark.
Ignorance needs to be remedied. That doesn't mean I live to make folks feel stupid. I can't do that without someone's permission.
Life is all about learning.

Gender might be different to sex but do people really think that using the correct word is going to significantly help the people who are ostracized by society as a result of their gender and its expression?
Rather than being so concerned with the correct term how about we don't call it anything and just accept that everyone can act, be and do things however they want without feeling the need to place them on a scale. Rant over.
