GTKY- What do you know?

@lappyfoinker‌ recently posted about knowing the whole Greek alphabet (in the GTKY- Greeks thread) and it got me to thinking about what unique things I've been taught over the years that I still remember.

Mine is that I know the first 20 elements of the periodic chart in order with all their details.

    I have crohns disease and over the years of infusions of sorts I've picked up the procedures of chemotherapy....even some about the drugs. I get stuck on the regular so i can walk into any clinic and state take blood from this arm/this vein. I can tell whenII'm dehydrated as my blood because thicker and the veins are harder to find.

    Working in retail i found the only way to truly find a real bill is to hold it to the light and read the strip. People will take a real bill "wash" it (clean the ink off the bill with a special mixture) then reprint the bill in a higher amount. It's "real" just not what it was. There's also a hairspray that will trick the counterfeit pens too.(don't ask me the mixture or the hairspray cause I don't know lol)

    Working at a pet store i could essentially answer any question about any animal (goldfish are meant to live for years and are actually pond fish, they don't even breed until 10 in, cats meow to communicate with humans not cats, it's illegal to pick up a turtle from a pond(or from the wild) to take home as a pet ect)

    i don't know anything super interesting but I could hold my own. I'm one of those good at everything great at nothing people.

    I know how to hula hoop pretty good. Fancy tricks and all. I'm a little out of practice though.

    Animal planet taught me a lot of random facts about animals, especially dogs.

    I also like to think I know quite a few cow breeds compared to most women my age thanks to FFA.

    I still remember the list of prepositions we had to memorize and recite in 6th grade.

    I teach the Civil War so I know a lot about that too!

    I know how to read music. I also know how to figure skate. And I know a lot about wine, beer, whiskeys, ports, cocktails etc because I used to bartend in fine dining (and because I like to drink it).

    I didn't know the English version of Old McDonald or the ABC song until a month ago...

    I worked at a zoo within a resort so I know many animal facts, exotic and domestic. I also taught myself to play the saxophone and trumpet. And I ride horses, mostly hunter jumpers.

    I was pretty into Greek and Roman mythology growing up, so I know the majority of major gods and their stories/myths.

    Also was a coffee expert when I worked for a coffee shop, so I know a lot about coffee from the ground to the cup. More than I ever really need to know lol

    I know a lot of lyrics to random 90s songs. My husband is embarrassed by it.
    I also know a lot of other random things but can never recall them until I am asked a question. I have a friend who specifically calls me when she has a weird question because I usually know the answer.

    I've played the violin for 27 years.

    I've also taught myself to play the piano. I was playing Greig's Concerto in A minor Op. 16. when the musical director overheard, and he literally begged my parents to "let" me take lessons, so he could say he had a piano prodigy.

    I grew up in the south, but moved back to Wisconsin as a senior in high school. I only have a southern accent when I'm drunk.

    I think I've shared this before but I can flex my pecs (make my boobs bounce) to the beat of the Beverly Hills Cop theme song. I'm pretty good at it.


    I guess these are things I can do. Oh well I KNOW them too. So I think it's still relevant
    to the topic.



    Is it weird that I really want to see both of those things? Yes, the yell AND the flexing.

    I was bored in algebra 12 years ago and memorized the numbers in Pi that appear on the calculator: 2.141592654.

    I had to memorize the prologue to Romeo and Juliet as a freshman, I still know it.

    I have a really good memory, and if I read something interesting, I'll remember it forever. I annoy DH because I'm always like "did you know that....?" I also kick ass at trivia :)

    I can remember the words to many songs after hearing them only a few times, but someone's name? Forget it! I am really good at trivia but only if it's multiple choice. I am a good guesser.
