Also, just to let you know, if you or anyone you know has even the slightest skill with a sewing machine, crib fitted sheets are one of the easiest things ever to make and only use 1 yard of fabric. That's what I did for DS's nursery and that's what I am doing for this baby's as well. Its so much easier to find adorable fabrics that you love and then make sheets that you like, for less than $10 a sheet depending on the price of fabric.
Fabric.com has TONS of fabrics for under $7 a yard. A few 1 yard pieces of a couple different fabrics and a few yards of 1/4 in elastic will get you 2-3 great fitted sheets for like $20-$30 bucks.
Yeah... that's just crazy. $400? I mean, if you have it and that's what you want to spend your money on more power to you. But you will literally use a single tight fitted sheet for the first 6 months at least. Blankets and bumpers increase your risk of SIDS and it's recommended that you avoid them. I know people put the bumpers in closer to a year to keep little legs from getting out of the gaps in the crib, but do you really want to pay that much money for something that will only be used a little? There are better things to splurge on, IMO!
We don't and won't have a nursery at all so we didn't splurge on anything. DS slept in a Pack N Play until he moved into his toddler bed at 12 months. DD will sleep in a bassinet that a friend gave me and then move into the PNP when she's too big for that. Right now we live in a one bedroom and it's still up in the air if we'll have our house by then, so we may all be cozy in our one bedroom. The family that lays together stays together!

@lewispm Yes, exactly! I said 2 yds in my post, but in hindsight, that was too much. 1yd is better. Took me maybe 20 minutes.
Oh I didn't even see your post! I do have a question, however. How did you do it without elastic? Does the sheet stay on even with a baby/toddler squirming around on them? Thanks!

Blanket/quilt- won't be used, to heavy and stiff, due to
SIDS no blankets in the crib, the soft ones are generally preferred by
babies/toddlers
Bumper- due to SIDS, you should not use at all
Bedskirt- by 6 months you will need to lower the crib which
will make the skirt drag on the floor.Because of the style of my crib and bedskirt. I had to remove it all
together when by son started sitting up and I lowered the crib at 5 months.
Pillow- due to SIDS, you should not use at all
Sheet- you need about 2 but it will get stained and more noticeable
if it is a solid vs. pattern so choose accordingly
Diaper hanger- I use this because I have it but it is
really annoying because it blocks some of the drawers and doesn’t hold asmany diapers as I would like.I don’t know what it is hanging on so
perfectly in all those nursery photos but it isn’t practical for me.You may like it though.
@FrecklesInside can you please please help me out with some advice on baby wearing lol I'm a FTM but i can really really see this becoming an integral part of my parenting as well but when i Google search or ebay search for slings i just get so freaking overwhelmed by everything that is offered. I see myself being more into the ring sling/woven sling type rather then the backpack sorta style ones. From your experience can you recommenda good infant one. Thanks in advance

@drudolph11 , I know you didn't ask me, but thought I'd throw in my two cents. I used a Maya RS with DD and really liked it... I think it's considered a pretty "entry level" RS. I just bought a budget friendly wrap by Lenny Lamb after lurking for a while on Babywearing 102 on FB. I also have the infantino mei-tei and ergo... Both of which got a lot of use. I hope that gives you some help!! I really did love wearing DD and I'm hoping to wear this LO even more.
In the splurge category... I also just bought a toddler Tula because I'm delusional and think my 2.5 y.o will still want to be worn.
@lynndavid6912 hehe thank you. And the Maya ones were the ones that i was actually most considering mostly cuz i liked them the best but the babies in the pictures seemed a little older then infant status lol and wasn't sure if that were ok for infants
Eta: i received a coupon for a free Seven Slings sling, well you have to pay the 13.99$ shipping but still i figured 13.99 for a sling wasn't too bad. Any idea on these?

@drudolph11 , no personal experience, but I've seen a couple posts on the seven slings and I think they can be okay but require some tweaking? Maybe @MandJS or @FrecklesInside can give you a better answer?
I'm really excited to use my Maya with this LO from the start... Mostly because it's easy to nurse in. I think DD was 4 or 5 months when I bought it so no experience with newborns, but I've seen lots of pics of it being used.
