  • What are some bridal shower gift ideas? Just something off the registry?
  • How do you guys manage to eat? I cannot keep this kid happy today, so I've barely had a chance to do anything but feed him and change diapers. He screams if I put him down and he screamed when I put him in the carrier, even though he loved it when we went grocery shopping yesterday.

Try putting him in the carrier and taking a short walk around outside or in your house to help him calm, settle, and relax before making food. Also, think foods you can eat with one hand. ;)

  • SO stayed home with me today. I'm about to be so hurt tomorrow when I'm all alone with her.

I just hate being home by myself with her all day.
  • @windwithfingers

I just want to hug you even though we've never met. :(

Sorry if that's creepy.  I promise I'm not too creepy. ;)
    Same.

  • My LO is still asleep right now. I need to give her some more meds and feed her.

    Lord...
  • There was a thread a few weeks back called One handed snacks. Might give you some inspiration!

Tag fail... This is for the person who can't find time to eat.
Thanks, I'll have to see if I can find it.
  • Thank you, lady's. I really do appreciate all the hugs.

DS has heat rash on his face, probably from sleeping and sweating on my chest the past few nights. Poor guy. It doesn't seem to bother him but I feel really bad.

  • We spent all day Sunday at my parents' place. My mom called me this afternoon and informed me that my dad now has a nasty cold. She said he feels really and and hopes that our dd won't get it. Me too. Here's hoping my poor 1 month old baby won't get a stupid cold.
We are so excited to grow our family!

  • I'm getting these sharp pains in my nipple/boob every so often. Sharp stabbing shooting pains. Is this normal pains for any lactating mother? Or is this something I need to look into like thrush or something else? DD isn't showing any signs of thrush but of course I used the google and now I'm thinking I have some sort of ailment. Hoping it's just normal lactation pains. Anyone? :-S

I'll just go ahead and quote myself since I didn't get a response. :/

    @windwithfingers‌ much love, girl.

I must have missed this, mobile sucks sometimes. I get those pains sometimes, I don't have thrush. I assumed it was normal, when do they happen for you?
I agree mobile sucks! No specific time. Just randomly.

  • @MrsSinner402‌ - I get that too when my milk lets down. Sometimes it seems to do it so randomly and I can't figure out what triggered it.

This is definitely not my letdown pain. It happens without a letdown too. Hmm.

This happens to me too and it is completely different from letdown, which for me feels like a tightening. I thought I had thrush too and freaked out but the LC I spoke to said it's normal.

  • @MrsSinner402‌ I've had that too. Shooting boob pain. It'd be interesting to find out what it actually is...

How do so many people feed their baby while he/she is swaddled?! I'm reading this on the bedtime routine thread and that's crazy to me. DD can barely stand being swaddled so I couldn't imagine feeding her while she's awake and having her swaddled. I think she'd go nuts!

I was wondering about that too. DS doesn't mind being swaddled most of the time, but won't eat that way.

S gets swaddled arms out from his 9/10pm feeding until his 9am feeding. So he takes his MOTN feedings swaddled that way and by nightlight. I hate to disturb him in the MOTN, and we swaddle a bit loose so he can still kick a bit in the swaddle.

Eta: he's not swaddled at all during the day.

We swaddle with her arms out. She's never been a fan of arms in, since she likes to have her little hands by her face.

We left the baby with MIL and went to the Outback and Sam's Club. I made full eye contact with the nurse that told me I was starving my baby and told my doctor I was unfit to parent. I'm sure she thinks I left my baby in a garbage can somewhere since we didn't have her with us. Fuck that bitch. She looked scared now that I was up and out of fucking bed.

Fucking run, bitch. I can't catch you yet, but if I do, there's nothing wrong with my arms. In other words, I will cut you. Until you bleed. To death.

I also never thought I'd leave my 3 week old with someone to go to dinner. I needed it.

That nurse is terrible. Did you file an official complaint?

We left S with my mother to go to dinner, and run errands a few times. Your LO was well cared for while you took a breather; nothing wrong with that!!!
