Both are beautiful names, IMO. But I voted for Arya because it's more unique. However, I don't think you could go wrong here.

Anna is after my grandmother. I agree with you, but I think it depends on the names that are going together and in this case I think it works.

Yeah, most names aren't unique anymore. I only heard it from the show.

I like both spellings, I don't think we would be tied down to the way the show spells it. It's not really after the show...that's just where we heard the name. I only wrote Game of Thrones on there because when I told my nieces our choices of names they thought we got the name from Pretty Little Liars... :P

Olivia may be popular, but it's classic. I'm in the "popular names are better than trendy names" camp.

Neither sounds very good with Anna, but Olivia is a little better.

Anna Olivia sounds MUCH better than Olivia Anna. I just noticed the middle name "Anna", and I think it sounds strange if it were Arya Anna. Of course who will call her by her full name anyways? I still say you must try and say it all together with the last name and see how that works.

I agree with PP though, I think Anne flows better with both names than Anna.

I picked Arya (though I don't like that spelling - Aria is much prettier IMO) but I didn't see the middle name Anna though. I don't think those flow together well so I think I'd have to pick Olivia but I didn't want to originally because it is insanely popular.

I'm just not sold on Arya it just looks like an odd name you made up. I've also never seen game of thrones either. I keep thinking Ariel like the little mermaid. I like Oliva better but no to Anna as the middle name.

Unless people read GOT they are not going to recognize Arya as Aria, most likely. If you use that name I would suggest using the correct spelling. Otherwise you may be constantly correcting people on her name.

Oh so it's Aria? I'd go with the Aria spelling. I think that name is pretty if you go with it.

She will be enrolled in a different kind of dance class....

There was this girl in my daughter's dance class who looks just like the girl from the show. The one time I talked to her I wanted to say "you know you look like..." but she was probably 9 years old and obviously would not know the show. Hahaha.

I am someone with an odd spelled first name, unfortunately. Please don’t do that to your little one. Either go with Olivia, or go with Aria instead of Arya. Arya looks like it’s pronounced (ARE-YAH).

Or people can just not like a spelling? I did my research, I know the history of Aria and it's an Italian name. You can't assume that people don't know what they are talking about or are presumptuous because they don't care for a spelling. Aria clearly has a hard 'e' sound in it and so a 'y' looks wrong and makes it harder to pronounce. Plus Aria, not Arya, is a musical term and so automatically sounds more familiar and beautiful IMO. OP is taking all the honest opinions in stride, why can't you? Being a WK for nothing.

Do you honestly need to ask this? She just likes to WK everything.

Both are good points!! I have only read the first book, but I have watched all of the Seasons.

DH is patiently waiting for the next book to come out. He knows how much I love her so I hope he isn't keeping anything from me that would be good to know... [-X

Olivia for sure. Not having seen GoT, I am not sure how to pronounce Arya.

Aria is pretty though.
