March 2015 Moms

Anterior placenta

Hey everyone I'm 17 weeks and 3 days but baby is measuring 19 weeks. I have a anterior placenta and have yet to feel any movement. Anyone else been through this before? When did you feel movement?
Anyone else have one also this pregnancy?
Best of luck to all the march mommas out there! This is my 2nd and 2nd march baby! Lol!

  • I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy and didn't feel him until about 21 weeks. However, after that he was all over the place and I am almost thankful for the extra padding as that shit HURT sometimes! LOL

  • I had an anterior placenta last time and again this time. In hindsight I felt movement around 19 weeks but wasn't sure until a few weeks later. I never feel/felt "flutters," it seemed to go straight to kicks and feeling the baby rolling around. This time it started around 17/18 weeks, so just recently.

  • I also have an AP. I could have sworn I felt movement inside on Sunday, but nothing since 17w6d today.

  • I have an anterior placenta and I'm going to be twenty weeks on Sunday. This is my second child and I'm just now starting to feel movement but it's not constant. Don't worry it'll happen soon enough;) I second the pp who said not to get the 3d cause I did and it looked nuts lol but I did find out her sex and only paid 40 dollars so it was worth it for me

  • I have an AP and have maybe been feeling baby for a couple of weeks. A few days ago a felt definite movement for 5-10 minutes straight. I'm 18w5d today. With my first I did not have an AP and felt flutters around 16 weeks, definite movement by 18 weeks.

  • I have yet another AP--with DD I didn't feel anything until after 20 weeks (I can't remember exactly but I know I didn't feel anything during the A/S even though she was moving a ton!)

I have felt maaaaaybe something possibly I dunno could be.  But I think it's just gas :(
  • I'm 18 weeks 2 days and only feel rolls and slight movements even though this is my 2nd. This baby does seem to push out a heel or elbow every once in a while and I definitely notice that, but again, the only movements I really feel so far are occasional. As baby grows, we'll feel more and more. Hang in there!

  • I'm 16 weeks and have felt little kicks here and there. Nothing consistent. I'm kind of bummed but as long as baby is healthy and growing that is what matters. I'm sure we will feel more as they get bigger!

  • Mine is anterior. I started feeling movement around 17w, and it's gotten stronger since. Everyone is different. I didn't have an anterior placenta the first time and didn't feel movement until 18-19 weeks.
  • I haven't felt any movement at all..and I'm 17 weeks...When do they tell you if you have an anterior placenta? Do you find out early on? My doctor hasn't said aanything, so I don't know if I may have that, or just have a late bloomer, or if I should be worried :(
  • I only knew because I saw it on my NT scan report. I'm kind of sad, I'm looking forward to feeling the baby! I guess I'll just have to try that "patience" thing I keep hearing about...

Here too. 15 weeks but I feel poking on the bottom left side and sometimes a hard lump in the same place. No significant movement of anything yet. Prolly be a while.

    Edit stupid auto correct
  • I was told I have an anterior placenta yesterday and I've been feeling kicks since about week 16. I was surprised when the ultrasound tech told me that because of what I've been seeing on here about women with anterior placenta not feeling the baby til layer in the pregnancy.

  • I was told my placenta was in the front anterior at my 19weeks ultrasound and i have been feeling definite movements and kicks since then and flutters before then. I am now 21weeks today and most of the kicks are low and the rest of the movements are like she's doing backflips and cartwheels. I guess everyone is different .
  • I have an AP as well, I started feeling some sort of movement, flutters/popcorn feeling mostly, around 19 or so weeks. Started to feel kicks around 21 weeks to the point where my husband could feel the faint kick. I've had only one or two really strong kicks but that's about it. He is active some days and not active others.

Srsly? This was definitely a good one to bump. I miss this OP. Her brand of crazy was something special.

For a minute I thought she was back, then realized someone zombied the thread. Not sure if disappointed or satisfied.

I'm going with disappointed. I'd rather one of her crazy threads get bumped rather than this boring stuff.

I have anterior placenta and 22w3d. On saturday I felt HUGE kicks for about 2 or 3 minutes and nothing since. ive contemplated a different feeling lower down being kicks, feels like the baby is kicking the cervix. I dont expect kicks for me to regulate until 25-30 weeks. Everyone's different!

Eta didnt realise the blocked avi until now. sighh
  • I'm really interested in this too, since I just found out at the u/s that I have an anterior placenta. During the u/s, I noticed the flutters I was feeling happened when we saw him kick. Not much since, but I know it's a matter of time.
