@sarenu1 How old is your E? We were working some on using the potty but she lost it over the weekend and is refusing it now.
2 years 10 months. We've been gently nudging her toward using it over the past few months without success. Over the weekends we've been trying out underwear. The last two weekends we've had some success, but if she's tired or has a melt down we usually have an accident.

Also, do you have any kids that E can have a play date with that are potty trained? We have a neighbor that has a daughter that is potty trained. She's a few months younger than E, and she got to watch her use the potty last weekend.
As weird as that sounds, I think that kind of pushed her over the edge to start training seriously. She's actually been asking for her underwear instead of diapers. Our neightbor said the same thing. She started training when they went on a vacation and saw another kid her age using the potty.

This is how I finally got an almost 4 yo D to make the jump. He was adamant about not using the potty, ever. Then one of his little friends at pre-school used the potty in front of him & made a big deal about being a big boy. The next day D says to me "I think I'm a big boy now. I want to wear underwear to school." He did and never looked back. Ah peer pressure. Now if it only worked that way in 3rd grade.
Also I need to know more about how the new Bamboozles are designed. I cannot keep/get an Sbish clean with my hard water and HE FL. Too many layers I think. I do ok with an EcoPosh fitted that has a thin shell and two hemp inserts. Strangely my lone Thirsties Duo Fab Fitted with MF cleans up fine, but I don't use it ON so maybe it's the combo of ON toddler pee & lots of layers that gives my issues with Sbish?
DD#1 just started cheer. I got an email from her instructor today and in her signature it's says she is a certified birth doula, certified postpartum doula, and certified lamaze childbirth educator. I thought that was pretty cool. I am excited to meet this lady now.
UO: if you haven't bothered to research what a candidates endorses or what policies they want to change/abolish/enforce etc, then you should not vote. Voting when uninformed is worse than not voting at all.
This is actually one of the reasons I'm not voting. I also got a jury duty summons a few weeks ago and applied online for my "nursing mother" exemption. I'm a terrible citizen right now.

Same here, minus the jury summons. And really, I feel like our state is screwed regardless of who wins the gubernatorial race.

Mine is too, but I'm still going to vote. Then I get to complain when it all falls apart right?

I'll still complain. The dems have raided our pensions already, and keep trying to pass changes to make up for the shortfall. Why the teachers union still endorses them is beyond me. The republicans want to privatize education and all that jazz. Too bad politicians apparently don't know math.
I'm very sad to announce that a large peanut butter chocolate chip cookie plus a full sized chocolate bar from the chocolatier next door IS NOT a replacement for sleep. Studies have shown.
That's a shame. You could be a millionaire if that worked.

Good point. Maybe more studies are needed.
I volunteer to participate in this study. It's for the greater good afterall, right?
I feel so down today. A is getting on my nerves for no legitimate reason, and I've done next to nothing all day besides showering. And now I'm feeling doubly as bad because these are the last few days/weeks I get to spend with her being my only baby, and instead of taking advantage of it I just want her to leave me alone.

What do all of your toddlers where on their feet in the cold? I mean before snow boots are needed but like in a month when cheap socks and stride rite sneaks just won't cut it? Just start snow boots then? She has some little uggs but they aren't really playground fun. And she goes outside every day if it's not gross out.
@stringy813 - we just do socks and sneakers. Is she complaining about her feet getting cold in regular sneakers and socks?
If it's really cold and you want "playground" shoes, I'd go for the snow boots. I'm sure she won't be the only kid with boots on. Otherwise, Uggs sound fine for 'around town' wear.
I wouldn't use it because I babywear, but having the baby buckled into it doesn't seem terribly unsafe to me. It's almost like using a bouncer, except for the shopping cart. I would NOT put my car seat into it, because that just doesn't seem safe or steady. I think it's a pretty clever solution to putting a car seat up on top of the cart where it is super dangerous.

I just finished researching all the judges up for retention on my ballot. Can I just say how peeved I am that all the women had high scores of indecisiveness and low scores of legal ability and intelligence, knowledge and lower ratings for retention. Ugh I hate this state sometimes. I shouldn't be surprised really, we just got named the worst state for women
Oh my word. I HATE Walking. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. @Mapleme, why didn't you warn me?!?!
ETA Holy cow! It's like a train wreck; I can turn away, but it just gets worse by the second!
LOL. I totally read this and I was like "Aren't you in a stroller moms walking group? Just quit if you hate it so much. Geez, Jane."
So, I put the rock and play in D's room to have a place to put N while I try to get D down for a nap. I took N over to change his diaper first and this is what happened. What's the weight limit on those things?
Haha, yeah I googled it right after a hit post reply. He was 24 pounds at his 2 year check up, so I guess we're good? He didn't actually fall asleep though, I did manage to get him to his bed. And he's going on two and half hours of napping now, which is awesome. Too bad the baby has decided to not nap at all today. I had to force the issue and put him in the swing.

Have I ever mentioned I'm a huge dork. I've voted in every election since I turned 18. And watched all the major returns since I was little. I still remember watching the 84' returns. Elections were fun in collage, a bunch of us would order pizza and play drinking games. These days DH and I just stay up late watching the returns come in and fall on the couch. But I still love it.
OMG, this is intense! I went to my nursing program info meeting this morning. Since I'm going for my BSN, and not just doing an associates in nursing I have even more classes to do for prereqs! So, I busted my ass to get through 3 quarters of math in 1 quarter to get into my first rereq of chem 121, just to find out that on top of intro to chem, organic chem, 2 anatomy courses, and biochemistry I have to squeeze in statistics, nutrition, 2 foreign language classes, and english 101 & 102. Then my 3 years in the ADN and BSN programs, of which I have to get 4.0's in all these classes to even get close to accepted. Please hold me, this will all be worth it. I can do it. (
Thanks TJ! I know I can do it. I just gotta keep telling myself that. I wasn't very great at school as a teen, so I keep trying to give myself a kick in the pants to do well as an adult.

The bamboozle def has a MF core. I worry about MF stink.
This makes me scared to try one. I haven't had issues with Thirsties MF, but my Kawaii developed ammonia after only a few uses.
Worst daycare commute ever, this morning. The first bus never came, then the next 2 already had 2 strollers on them so the driver wouldn't let us on. I finally decided to take the train, which meant half an hour after getting out of the house, we had essentially gotten nowhere. Finally got to daycare, 45 minutes later.
Mid morning adjustment: eggs royale at the neighborhood tea shop. Much better now.
@Mapleme and @stoneycakes sorry I was confusing. I definitely meant the show, not the exercise. I am in season 3 now, and I am so glad DH and I aren't watching it together bc he would totally laugh at how much this show makes me cry now.
