Trying to Get Pregnant

Trying to get pregnant...

Hello everyone!, wishing you all the best. We just started our journey trough treatment few months ago... We tryed for over a year to have a baby, since nothing happened we decided it was time to see a RE and we started treatment few months ago. I been on metformin for over 2 years, I had clomid for the past 6 months and the last 2 combined with ovidrel trigger shot. This month I had the shot on October 27th and we did TI for the next 5 days every night, also on the 28th they deposit (the doctor) my husband's sperm next to the cervix to help for pregnancy. I been experiencing some discomfort on my left ovary which is the one I had the follies, also staring today some minor lower back pain and my whole pelvis feels sensitive same as my breast. Is this normal? I feel like when my period is about to come but I'm not supposed to get my AF till November 15th? Any help and experiences will be highly appreciated, last month I really didn't have many symptoms after the shot and I am just looking for some people to share their experiences with me since I'm new in this track... Also, does anyone know what is the % of success on this kind of treatment-medication, I am one of those cases (according to the doctor) that they do not know why I haven't get pregnant since everything looks normal specially with the medication...thank you in advance for the advice and my best for you all!

That seems like a really long LP.

Is English not your first language?

  • Lol... Am I that obvious?? Hehehe... No, is not :) My cycle is always 32 days so I am thinking the 15th of November I should get the AF, I got the shot on the 27th which was day 14 of my cycle... I'm pretty new in all this stuff so I was just looking for some answers and experiences from other so I don't start to panic before time...
  • Thank you for replying, doctor really haven't explain a lot, they pretty much give me appointments to check my follies and when to give me the trigger shot, and then all they told me is to stay away from pregnancy test for 2 weeks and to call them if my period started or not to follow up from there. I read some people like to test out the hcg out of their system to know better, is that recommended or I should just wait till the 15th to make a test? :)

Personal choice. It's up to you. If you're not planning to test early then there's no need to test out the trigger. But if you want to test early then you'll want to test it out to make sure you're not getting the trigger and thinking you're pregnant when you're not.

  • Thank you very much! :D
  • Thank you!! I am excited about all this, I feel very hopeful that my wish to be a mommy will be granted, I do pray every day for all of us to make our dream come true and I have a lot of faith if it doesn't work this time it will work eventually. I'm so excited this wait feel eternal tho, I want to wait as much as I have to but I won't lie, every time I see the pregnancy test on my drawer I feel temped to test lol. The main reason I joined this website is because I feel this process is hard and we need all the support and cheers we can get. I am very thankful for the welcoming messages and all the tips people have share. :)

I can tell by the order of some words that English isn't your first language, but your writing is NOT terrible! It's pretty great actually!
I second this, @zyaraluz! You speak and write English is better than my great aunt, who lived in the U.S. for thirty years. Muy impresionante! (As you can see, I speak mediocre Spanish  :) )

I was thinking the same thing! I've always heard English is difficult to learn as a second language and I thought you did really well!

  • Thank you for all the welcoming messages!! I'm excited to see how many ladies replied and you are all so nice. @NariaDreaming‌ actually sounds a great idea to go Cancun, you can mix the IVF and relaxation of a great vacation which is a great thing when TTC. Actually the doctor who started my metformin treatment is in Cancun as he is great. I own him having a regular period since I had several doctor before and they just sent me a bunch of hormones which caused me to gain almost 70 pounds. I already lost 60 but I'm still with those extra 10 which apparently they feel so attached to me that I can get them to leave hahaha... Ladies I am definitely happy to be part of this community, it feels so good to have someone to share who are going to similar things... I am currently on the TWW, still don't wanna test until is time for AF to come but this wait is soooo hard!! :x
  • Bienvenida a nuestro grupo! :) Your English writing is great! Spanish is a second language for me, and the writing is difficult although conversationally I do fine. I can guarantee you that your written English is better than my written Spanish would be! Welcome and I hope you have a short stay here on our board!

  • @DovahFel‌ that story really made me laugh!! Still I can tell you that anyone speaking a second language will have some funny stories to share about pronunciation... If you only new the few embarrassing moments I had at work, I'm in sales at an AT&T corporate store so when we sign people for tv, Internet, home phone and cellphone we call it if is one service single play, 2 services double play and 3 triple play. We have a work chat where you shout out when you achieve something good so I asumed that sign up a customer for the whole 4 services was ca called four play so I shouted on the chat "I just got a four play!" My manager stills laughs about it lol... I had a silly question for you ladies, which brand you think is best for pregnancy test? My AF is not coming till few more days (7) and I want to be prepared for test since I been having so many crazy symptoms. Also how many days befor AF is good to test or shall I wait to see if I am late? :)
  • Nice!! This info really helps
  • For test brands, I'm partial to First Response (FRER). If you plan on testing a lot, you can get Wondfos which are much cheaper, but they have been known to have bad batches now and then. The blue dye tests are not as good, in my opinion (IMO).

  • Which ones are the wondfos? I seen the FRER and the clear blue, equate but never those, do they sell them somewhere special? Thanx for the info

I know you can get the Wondfos on Amazon. Some ladies also use tests from the Dollar Store which seem to get the job done as well.

  • Hi and welcome!  I just wanted to pop in and tell you that your posts are more coherent than a lot of things we see here.  I have a friend who is from eastern Europe and she's always telling me that her English isn't very good. She's too hard on herself and so are you!  Just keep at it -  but for realz, you're doing better than a good number of 'native' English speakers.  And that's coming from a Jersey girl who lives in the south - I've heard it all!!

Good morning ladies!! I tested today with the FRER and got a BFN :( I am feeling some discomfort on my pelvis, sore breast and back ache for the past few days so I was hopping. I am not sure if it was too early because AF is not supposed to come till next week but still it got me little sad to see that I had not succeeded lol... Next month I wanted to do what they call charting but I have no idea how to do it or what it means, also I want to know how checking temperature works and when I am supposed to do it, I did the trigger shot this month but I have no clue when I actually ovulated so if someone wants to take the time and explain me how charting works it will be great!! I had a dentist appointment today since my molar has been hurting for the past 3 days, I got the worst news ever, it is a Windsom theet and they will have to remove it together with the molar since it got damaged when the Windsom toot started growing. Will this affect me TTC or a pregnancy in case I am Preggo?? Thank you all and have a great day!!
  • My writing is horrible but I hope it is readable hahaha!!
  • Get a Basal Body Thermometer, sign up for a Fertility Friend account, watch the FF tutorials, and buy a copy of Taking Control of Your Fertility. If you had a BFN then your are not pregnant at this time. Also, Prego is a pasta sauce.

  • @pmcd886 Great advice!! I already bought me one today and I am excited to start charting!! First I need my AF to show tho..
I'm so happy to be in this site, you all ladies are very nice and helpful.
I know prego is pasta sauce but since I lack on English vocabulary and I seen it in so many ttc threads I thought it was a way to say pregnant shorter hehehe... Sorry but thanx for correcting me.
    Wish you all good night!!
    :)
