I can't get rid of this clog! (BF related)

I EP for DD and I have a horrible clog right now that I can't get rid of.  Usually they come out with some massage and pumping.  I have massaged with my last 3 pumps trying to get it out and it won't budge.  I tried massaging in a hot shower and then pumping as soon as I got out and it didn't work.  My DD won't really latch, so I can't get her to try to nurse it out either.  Is there anything else you have done that has worked?  It's so painful and I finally had to take some Advil.  I'm afraid this is going to turn into Mastitis if I can't get rid of it. :(

    Have you tried heat + massage while pumping? Or have you tried a manual pump? sometimes I found that my medela hand pump was better for this than my electric.

    I agree with the advice above but wanted to also suggest trying to hand express or pump while lying on your stomach so that gravity can assist you. Good luck.

    I don't have a manual.  :(   I'll try hand expressing it out tonight.  Hopefully it will work!

After about 15 sec, he got a mouthful of milk, and after that I was able to pump. If your H is game, it's worth a shot.

    I have actually heard about the vibrator before, so I may try that tonight.  I have no doubt that my H would happily agree, but I just don't think I can go there.

    I just want to say, I hated clogs like that, but in a really weird way I really love the satisfaction you feel when it suddenly breaks free.

    I hear you on that.  The only upside to this is the flow of milk I know I'll see once I get it free.  It's my slacker boob too, so it's all that more exciting.
