For those of you who have flown recently, any recommendations for small toys that kept your child interested on the plane? I have a couple of ideas but wanted some more! :-)
We took a few little people, a LP ostrich, a couple little trucks, and a magnadoodle for B this summer. He LOVED the magnadoodle. DH drew pictures for him and he liked erasing them.
LO was uninterested in most toys for the plane ride. I was super bummed. Even watching home videos on my phone only kept him occupied for a minute or two. Mostly I just tried to bribe him with goldfish. I was pretty much out of luck when LO quit being hungry.
I second the magnadoodle, I even found one at Dollar Tree so I didn't feel bad when it got left in the seat pocket (until the flight home). I got some other little toys and things at the Dollar Tree - the plastic shot glasses were the favorite, second place went to the folding brush/mirror thing. I've also heard the Crocodile Dentist toy is a good one, but it wasn't going to ship in time to test it out so I didn't end up getting it. And LOTS of (sugar free) snacks!
Thank you to everyone who recommended the magna doodle. B Toys makes a toddler version called Toulouse–LapTrec that we saw at Target today so we picked it up based on the suggestions. We let LO try it, and he loves it. Going to store it until the plane ride so that it is "new" to him.
